Has anyone travelled on the Gatwick-Orlando route recently, and if so is the Nintendo system available, and what does it cost?

Thanks,

Nigel.:):) :)

ive been 4 times in last few years and never had the nintendo system on board

has anyone had this welcome piece of luxury going to orlando???

giggler:bounce:

We did last November - but that was the first time in several years

Chris

No help, but the plane they are using at manchester has got them.

David :D

:D Two years ago we got them on the return flight from Orlando . . but that was only because they'd had to bring in a plane from the usual Miami run as the normal one had a problem. Kept DD amused for hours (but that was actually not good because she refused to sleep on the night flight because of them!).

As we're flying back from Miami in October, we'll be hoping to get them again - we were spoiled on our Cathay Pacific flight to Hong Kong last year with them and they really were a major contribution to an enjoyable 12.5 hour flight:D

When we visited last March there WAS a nintendo system on board the virgin plane. I must say though - the majority of times we have gone there has not been a nintendo system and it was the 'basic' television package. If your plane does have the nintendo there is no extra charge it is free - just a part of the in-flight entertainment. So I think it is only the 'newer' virgin planes that have them. If you really want to know you could ring virgin and ask if they know?

We have only had it on one leg of Four Return journeys. It didnt cost anything, and even though we dont have children with us when travelling - I played it quite a lot and really got quite good on Tetris! LOL

We had Nintendos on our return flight Orlando-Manchester on Thursday.

However this was probably compensation due to the fact that our outgoing flight from Manchester wasn't a Virgin plane, but a plain white Air Atlantic jumbo, with no seat back tv's - just one large screen at the front of each cabin (like planes used to be years ago).

Apparently our plane was still stuck in Orlando with a technical problem and they had to bring this plane in to get us out there.

Once on the plane, we had to sit on the tarmac for another hour because the plane was heavier than a normal Virgin plane and the captain had to request new flight plans.

Bit of a disappointing start to our holiday, but at least we got there although an hour or two later than anticipated, but better than being delayed at Manchester.

I've done the Gatwick/Orlando run a few times now...this last trip was the first time ever we had the Nintendo's on it, and only on the return flight. There was no charge.

I have done six journeys with Virgin (to Orlando and New York) and have only ever had the Nintendo on one leg of these:rolleyes:

Nope, we travelled in July this year and didn't have them. Seems to me from reading all these posts that Virgin cannot justify advertising this as a big plus point for booking with them if you have kids. Ditto if you have read my post about K-ID packs.

Have GameBoys at the ready!

We had them going to Los Angeles two years ago and also flying back form San Francisco two weeks later. Seems a bit silly to put them on a San Fran flight which had mainly adults and quite a bit of business but not on the Orlando flights which will obviously have many children on board. Flew to Antigua last year and no games. My parents flew Miami last year and they didn't have it either, do you think it's only on one plane??!!

Arrived back at 0930 on he 3rd at Gatwick and there was no sign of any nintendo on either the out or in journey.Even travelling premium economy didn't produce them!
