Virgin flight entertainment?

Have booked my seats on the virgin plane and it says we are flying on the:
Boeing 747-400 (Seating configuration LGW-1)
Can anyone tell me if this is one of the new planes with the new entertainment and if it is what is the entertainment like?

I am not sure if the Gatwick fleet have been upgraded yet, so I can only give you tentative information!

We travelled premium economy on Virgin in Feb 2012, the entertainment system was problematic on the way out but fine on the way back. (The entertainment system is the same in PE as it is in Economy). There were 12 movies to choose from on our flights, games, music etc. but I can't say the entertainment was good. We did the same flight in economy on Air France in July and the entertainment system was far superior.

The only thing I would say is that the Gatwick fleet were due for an upgrade which may make all the difference. If the planes have been updated, then I'm sure you'll be happier than we were with the entertainment.

Onlyone left that is not refurbed but that is going out of service

We flew back last week and the new system is great, about40movies on demand, even chat to other seats its great. The touch screen can be a bit funny and decided to do its own thing i found

We flew back last week to on the new 747 entertainment great kept kids busy the while flight even my 4 year old was very good only way to no is if economy seat are on upper deck it's a refurbished plane

I have dfound the new entertainment to be asbsolutely fantastic. I flew to florida once on an air 2000 flight in '01 and there were old school tv's.

The music - can create your own playlists and listen to select songs.

Tv - On demand films and tv programme's.

The difference is brilliant.


Oh I cannot wait to go again.

Yes there is economy seats up stairs

You will be on the refurbished planes

We found the new entertainment excellent - far too much choice!!

As well as films there are loads if tv series, music albums, games etc too keep you busy

The planes can change right upto time of boarding.Our seats changed from time of choosing them online to actually boarding even the plane had changed from time of doing the twilight check-in to boarding.
But I would imagine you should get the refurb plane as I think they have all been done as of this month.
