It was our first time with Virgin this year and we were impressed with them.
Our planes had the older Nova system on them which had quite a few movie channels on them, then kiddie channels and tv channels, there were music channels too. You could not start and stop the channels like you can on the newer planes with Virgin from London but after being used to an overhead tv with no choice of programmes for quite a while this was an advancement for us.
We did take on the plane some water and also a sandwich for the eldest son but really we didn't need anything, they looked after us really well, bringing drinks and snacks, 2 meals and ice cream. It fact we felt quite full. So next year not bothering to take anything on with us.
Coming back it was quieter with it being night, still had the range of films but lights dimmed so you really felt like resting. I know they did come round with drinks but I was trying to rest.
Really good flight times back and for the first time not suffered from major jet lag. Flight was delayed till 10.30 pm instead of 6.30 pm so was our bedtime which helped us rest more.
I would suggest checking in at Downtown Disney on the morning of your departure. We were informed of our delay but were then free to enjoy another full day at Universal. We didn't need to get to the airport till 8.30 pm.
Checking in at Downtown Disney was such an easy straightforward thing to do, we were well impressed. It made the whole last day really stress free.
We still had July's choice of films going out but the most recent films being showed according to the magazine for August were Shrek 3 and Spiderman 3 on the outboard flight in August.
