We were on a cruise this past weekend and they had an offer where if you met with a guide one on one, you would get VIP Fast passes for your next trip. We did meet with the guide and almost purchased an add on but didn't at this time. He told us our VIP passes are already loaded for us but then also mentioned stopping by the sales office on our next trip to Disney. Does anyone know how these work?

As "compensation" for your time talking to the guide, the VIP Fast Passes are awesome. You can walk up to any ride at any time and Fast Pass on. No reservations needed. The only ride it didn't work for was TSMM at Hollywood Studios.

Can you tell me where I might see them in my account? I couldn't find anything obvious but still have vacation brain so I just might not be looking in the right place!
On the iphone app, I usually see them listed in the fastpass section as if they were plans for separate days.

I don't remember the exact timeframe, but you can use them for multiple days/parks. We went to our presentation before our MK day and only used 2 of the VIPs...we got to use the others at HS 2 days later. (they gave us 4 VIP FP+'s because they took forever for paperwork and we were going to miss one of our pre-scheduled FP's.)

We also met with DVC during a cruise and were told we would have VIP Fast Passes available for our next WDW trip. I explained this to the front desk CM when we checked in at BLT. He said "no problem" and added 3 additional fast passes for each person on our reservation (7 in all). I never noticed a difference to MDE but as YoSteph mentioned, you didn't have to schedule the fast pass to use it. Just go to the fast pass line and scan your magic band. Worked great for us - a little jealous some of you got 4 but not really complaining since we had a large group.

They generally are good for any ride except Toy Story, 7DMT, or Soarin'. The ones given out at Saratoga usually have a 72 hour expiration, but I imagine the cruise ones don't.

They show in your FP reservation section...It denotes how many have been added per person. Then when you use them they go away. Make sure if you make FP the "old fashion way" not to overlap using the VIP ones. The rides will take away your VIP first if you scan early on your FP that you made. Just a little FYI to maximize. They work great, but FP lines can be long so we didn't even use all that we were given. Test Track was 40 min wait FP....yikes.

No, they are NOT automatically added to your MDE! You will need to stop by a DVC Sales center at WDW or stop at a kiosk and have them call over to SSR Preview center with the email on your MDE account so that they can be added. They will be good for that day plus 3 days, then they do expire if not used.

*Correct, freediverdude! They are also not good at any character meet/greets, shows, fireworks or parades. Only attractions w/exception of those freediverdude mentioned. The DCL/DVC FP will have the exact same restrictions and capabilities. There is no difference, they are all DVC FP.

Here's what I don't get...will those people who buy resale as of today be sent a different type of membership card? Because if not, how is a store or restaurant going to know who bought resale and who bought direct?

People that buy resale DVC today or afterward will NOT get a member card. They will have access digitally to download membership info but it will NOT look like a member card. All this info is outlined in what I have read since the new info was release.

I've heard new resales purchasers might not even get a membership card

They will NOT get a member card if they purchases 4/04/16 or after.

It is correct that the DVC FP do not need scheduling for any particular attraction like regular FP. I've had fellow members tell me they never saw them on their MDE but they were there for use. I don't know what the deal is on that. I think they show as something like "special" DVC FP?
