I like 'em. I don't like all of them. DP has threatened to throw them at me if I collect/display too many of them.

While I don't see the appeal, obviously there are people out there that enjoy them. I find them quite the oddity. :)

I don't get want's "not to get". They're just Mickey shaped statues that depict art from various Disney attractions/events. I don't think it matters if they do anything either. Most collectibles don't do anything. And if they do, the respective collectors don't put them through the motions.

I saw one today that I'd like to get. It's white and has the old WDW "squared off" D logo with the mouse eared globe in the middle.

I bought one in hopes of getting that one. Instead, I got a black one with white squiggles all over it.

I now own two. The black one and a clear orange one.

I'm looking for the white WDW one on Ebay.

I voted "they are OK" since they are not for me.

However, I can see why they are popular if you are a collector and like the thrill of trying to find that special one :goodvibes

That is the easiest, although possibly more expensive, was of ensuring you get what you want.

I like them, but can't start another collection - no money and no space. I love how they are all different yet the same (same shaped figure, different design). They don't appear to be breakable - good if packing them into a suitcase. I personally wouldn't want the hassle of trading - pins are ok as they are easier and lighter to transport. I think they must be fairly popular otherwise they would have just done the first series.

I want to be able to get the Pook*A*Looz merchandise but after contacting Toys-R-Us they are unlikely to be sold here in the UK :sad2: I will just have to get a couple when we go in December :confused3

LOL - I thought the easiest, definitely most expensive, way to get what you want was to buy the whole set. =)

I suppose then you could recoup some of your money by selling what you *don't* want on ebay, if you were so inclined.

Or easier than e-Bay would be to contact a DISer via PM....wink, wink. nudge, nudge.:laughing::laughing::laughing:

I could like Vinylmation if I could purchase the ones I wanted instead of buying the whole box and then trading the ones I don't want.

Ditto. If I am the consumer I want to choose what I get.

For the same reason I'm not as fond of multi-flavor gum ball machines. :)

We bought a full box when the first ones came out and was going to sell the extra set we got on ebay. I think it was the Urban series. Well we put one full set on ebay (without the chaser) and made about 75% of our money back so we decided to sell the other set. Then we sold the chaser and the extra ones separately, the Chaser alone went for over $50. We didn't buy anymore after that.

I'm with those who hate them. I like pins. I don't like these.

don't hate ... but don't like either. I've learned from the closet full of collectibles from the Disneyana Conventions.:guilty:

I voted they are ok but ..... because they are cute but I don't need another collection.

I am doing snowglobes which I love and collecting pins.

The only vinylmation I'm considering getting is the large white Mickey so I can have the characters autograph him. But I don't know if I'm brave enough to stand in character lines alone. Plus how would Donald react signing Mickey? :rotfl:

They are OK, but ... they are too expensive for me. I've never gotten the collecting bug about anything, though. I could see paying $5 for something that will be a surprise, but for 9.95 I would prefer to get the specific ones that I like.

My DS7 just discovered these on our last trip. Gotta say I am liking them better than pins. First, it doesn't take an hour of debating over which one he's going to get, just pick a box and go! :thumbsup2 Secondly, when I find them lying on the floor it doesn't hurt so much to step on them! And given that the 3" are basically the same price as pins I have no complaints. We only have a few and no doubles so will have to see how it goes once we start getting dupes...

I like collecting the urban series. One of my first purchases was the mystery one from urban 2. I've kind of stopped but I'm going back to Disney soon so lol probably get the bug when I go back
