I miss the vinyl days. When you bought an LP, it seemed to have a 'character'. You were buying something that was much more than just music.

When I look at my old collection of LPs (everything from Deep Purple to Blondie) they bring back a feeling of nostalgia.

These days you click on Napster or iTunes and download an album in seconds. In 40 years time I double very much my DD6 will look back at her 'collection' of mp3 files in the same way!!

Shame.

I never knew adults were into the Smashing Pumpkins and Tori! That's pretty cool, isn't the maroon swirl one a limited edition?

I also looked at your record collection, and it's really impressive. I've never seen records that were molded into shapes before.

Sadly there are no record stores around here, so I guess ebaying is the only option.

I hate buying music online. You just don't get the feel of the album, no liner notes, lyrics, or artwork. Whenever I get a record/cd, I always look at the artwork and lyrics.

DH still has quite a collection from the 70s. We can't find any decent furniture for records! I want something nice looking with doors (preferably glass doors)--nobody makes any decent record album furniture anymore!

I've Googled like crazy and the only furniture I find is plywood boxes--not very attractive.

I never considered the problem of storage. I guess that I'm glad that I still have my album shelves from the 70's. Now if I could only find some way to store my 45RPM singles...

Looove 45's. Sometimes the only reason I buy them is for the b-sides.

Yes the maroon was limited (as most color vinyls usually are). I also have the clear Tori. I have all shapes, sizes, colors, from all differnt countries around the world. One of my favorite things to do when showing off my collection is to ask someone to pick a color and then I pull out a record in that color. I don't think I have been stumped yet.
