ITA. We've been up front during various M&M shows just so that we could queue up "easily" for the villains. Well, it's not so easy, plus you have to compromise on seeing the show from a good vantage point. I'm glad they're spreading it out. However...I think having a paid event inside a paid event is just bad form. But I guess it's par for the course these days...MNSSHP+???

Well that's about all it is....you're meeting a professionally designed and well put together costume and not much more. For people to push, shove, wait HOURS and pay hundreds of dollars is just crazy.

Yes, but you have up until 24 hours before hand to cancel for a full refund.

Not that different in a way than some F&W events. 3D dessert party vs. same with sweet seats. Special street parties, and more special VIP pkgs that include a ticket to the special street party.

If there's a market for it, why not meet it? One doesn't have to do this soirée to enjoy MNSSHP. Why care that others will do both?

Again... it just kind of feels like "if I can't/won't pay for it then no one should have the option"...

Can't speak for anyone else, but my distaste for this has nothing to do with the above. Charging more for the event inside the event just reeks of greed, imo. You mentioned the 3d dessert party earlier...we went last year. The increase in price to get sweet seats over regular seats was not *more* than the cost of the regular seats in the first place. There was "only" a $35 difference. Now I do see this year they increased the sweet seat price, so it's more like a $44 difference, but it's still not *more* than the initial ticket cost...AND it's not in addition to the regular ticket cost. It's either/or, not both like the soiree/MNSSHP is.

It isn't about thinking no.one else should have it. I'm just disappointed in the greed. I don't expect it to go away. If it was like 120, and included admission to MNSSHP, it, I don't think the reaction here would be as mixed as it is

Apples to oranges...that's a paid event inside the park, yeah, but not inside a special hard-ticket event, where you're already paying a premium for limited hours inside the MK. Now you're paying $100/person extra for one of those hours you're already paying for. I just see it differently than you do, and that's fine.

I saw this list of villains attending on another site. Not sure if it's accurate, but it would match what others have been speculating:

Entertainment is subject to change without notice, but Lady Tremaine, Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, The Queen (from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”), Dr. Facilier, Frollo, Captain Hook and the Queen of Hearts are expected to make an appearance.

I must admit, being up front during the end of the M&M could be a bit scary. I haven't had a crowd push on me like that since a general admission metal concert! It was all over so quickly, very few could actually meet them.

Maybe it's just a personality thing, but I'd rather wait in such a line and get my M&G and photo time in peace than fight tooth and nail for it even if shorter!

Sounds fun with your daughter being a sort-of-villain this year... hope the wait isn't too long in the end! .

Honestly, as much as I hate to see it go, I think they probably did need to stop it to get rid of the shoving. I can't imagine trying to meet them without express instructions from the Disboards. We knew exactly where each of them would be standing, and knew to get there early, go to the very front right where the character we wanted to see was, to ask the CM standing there exactly where the line would start, and plant ourselves in that spot and not move. As a result we usually saw 1 or 2 characters after the show- the one we were first or 2nd in line for and the one next to them if we could get in line quickly enough after the first M&G. It got pretty rough last year. I saw one lady who thought she was at the front of the line for the character next to the one we were seeing have the line started about 2 feet from where she was, and people knocked her out of the way to get there- she got shoved way back in the line and was yelling at everyone. I also saw another lady with small kids near the front who was yelling because adults were knocking over her kids to try to shove past her for the front of the line. I think she was scared by the crowd, and probably legitimately so.

We tried to catch the Evil Queen and Maleficent during one show last year and had DH watch the show in Maleficent position while we stood 1st in line in the Evil Queen position that was close by. DH was supposed to be 3rd in line for Maleficent and immediately when the show ended people started shoving him and he wound up so far back that there were only 2 groups behind us that even got to see her. He was surprised at how rough it got.

Thanks MinnieMickeyMom! I will keep my fingers crossed that the line isn't horrible, but I know we will stand in it regardless! They may be dressed up college kids to some, but ever since DD (now 8 ), was 2, the characters have been the most important thing to her at WDW. They have always been more important to her than the rides or shows, and meeting them is her favorite thing to do. Being able to suspend disbelief and think of them as "real" Disney characters is part of Disney Magic! I still get excited when I see Mickey or Minnie!

Since I am going solo during a confrence I thought it may be worth it to at least book it. Honestly I dealt with this when I was making plans for our family trip in May. This is getting very frustrating haveing to monitor these boards, Disney web site every day and every hour to first find out about these things and then have to be on the phone for hours in hopes you can get a reservation all in order to spend even more money! I really am getting a bad taste in my mouth about Disney and may be considering trying Universals parks for our next family trip instead.

I think it reeks of economics. One should expect the availability of the event (200 seats in a restaurant vs. total capacity of MK) to correlate with price. More limited / "exclusive", more expensive. Would you feel better about it if uncoupled -- if they were on different nights -- ie you didn't have to pay for MNSSHP to attend the soirée?

Agree to disagree -- no issues there! And I am totally with you... Part of the "problem"... special events, LE magic bands... bring 'em on! I'm such a sucker... Disney has to LOVE me! LOL!!

Not very child friendly characters. My son loves villians. But I'd imagine many small children won't. Or maybe it's catered toward the adult crowd?

The price is pretty scary too. $99 on top of a hard ticket? !
