Villians Sinister Soirée

Just read on another board that there will be 8 villains total including Lady Tremaine. It is going to be the Villains from the Villains Castle show. Looking at the timeline, that means there won't be shows during those times, based on the showtimes for the previous years. Or at best, the meet and greet following those showtimes will be reserved for those paying the up charge.

I just booked this for my family for the 30th of October. I was on hold for almost 40 minutes. Someone in the thread asked who all aside from Lady Tremaine was to be there; the agent told me - aside from her, Doc Finkelstein, the Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, Maleficent, and Cruella de Vil.

it can't. As this event is held in a restaurant, they are limited to the capacity of the restaurant. So no overselling. Does not mean they were offering tickets to MNSSHP events that were already sold out. They've been doing these parties for ages and they know what a succesful capacity is for MNSSHP. Sold out ones are obviously going to be more crowded, but the MNSSHP is not an event based primarily on character greetings, so you don't get tons of guests upset that they didn't have time for enough character greetings.

Thanks for the insight! Our 1st Disneyworld trip is nearing and I'm struggling with what to do, were more interested in the lighter lines for rides then character meetings so I think we might pass... On the other hand good viewing for the shows kinda sang to me... Still undecided

Doc Finkelstein? Who is that?

Tempting but I want to meet Maleficent with Aurora at Fairytale Hall so I think I'll skip it.
I'm hoping I can do that and Jack/Sally without spending the whole night in those 2 lines.

I'd be solo anyways so I won't have a problem finding a space for the parade and fireworks.

Although it sounds like the event only lasts 45 minutes, so that may limit how many characters you will be able to meet.

Hopefully, they'll just double up on those characters. I'll be dissapointed if they decrease the number of Mix and Mingle shows that they're doing.

Trying to get through now to get a reservation-- current hold time is OVER 30 MINUTES, so clearly there is a demand..

I'm only going to try to go because its just me and my BF - so although it is still $200, its not a family of four+.. also I have been trying to get an ADR for the Wishes dessert party & dinner at CRT and have been completely unsuccessful - so this combines the two into one event for less than I'd pay at a meal at CRT (and we will get to *hopefully* see characters other than princesses)

Holy heck. What do you eat at CRT for $150+ per person?

That would definitely suck. If true, it would be removing something that was part of a normal party experience and making it exclusive to those who paid even more. I refuse to believe this.

I don't buy that they'd remove that M&G either.

I find this kind of sad, because I think it's the way Disney is going to develop going forward. A WDW trip is already beyond the financial reach of many, many families. Now, families who scrimp and save to make their way to WDW will be faced with being a second-class citizen because all of these add-ons are just too much.

I also find it sort of ridiculous that this add-on event is an add-on to a hard ticketed party! People are already paying good money to be there - good grief!

And I say all of this as someone who just did the Frozen Premium package. I didn't feel like I got my money's worth, and I won't be doing packages like this in the future. I find it really money-grubbing and distasteful.

Hopefully we will still have the shows and the meet and greets after.

Bad news. I just spoke to a friend who books vacations at DW and has a knowledge of the entertainment offerings. Looks like all of the meet and greets after Villains Castle show will no longer be happening. Maleficent and Evil Queen will be in Fairy Tale Hall and cannot be in two places at once (especially in such close proximity). He didn't know about shows being cancelled for the soiree, but based on this meet and greet rule, I'd say it's a probability.

That I wouldn't mind so much--they would at least be available. This particular question I posed a few days back when the PFH villain stuff was announced.

It is decisions like this that are making me very, very happy that we aren't going to Disney next year. I really hate the direction they are going with the added costs on top of added costs.

Not that many years ago, all guests once inside a park were on equal footing with regard to experiencing attractions. I'm as fiscally conservative a dude as you can get, but this trend still saddens me.

I completely agree. $99 on top of the MNSSHP ticket cost? For 1 hr? Ridiculous, IMO.

I went ahead and booked for 10/10. It's really no harm, no foul. I'll give it a couple if weeks if reviews, if it is lame I will just cancel. If it saves me from having to stand in line at Fairy Tale Hall to meet Maleficent, I'll be appeased. I'm running under the assumption that Fantasyland is going to be an epic nightmare and Disney has a serious crowd control issue on their hands with day guests that will still be in line for the Mine Train as the party begins each night.

If those same villains from Mix and Mingle are indeed the ones at the new event (sounds probable to me) then it stands to reason they will no longer meet and greet after the shows. Almost all of them are available elsewhere to meet that night, so technically they aren't taking anything away from the average partygoer. EXCEPT, Dr. Facilier is the one I wanted! Maybe they'll set him up someplace.

Guess we are really getting in to speculation at this point, but I can't wait to get the real scoop after the 1st party so I can tweak my agenda as necessary. I won't bother with the show if there's no M&G after.

It sounds as if there will be at least one less Mix and Mingle show for 'standard' party attendees. Didn't we already know that they wouldn't be meeting following the Mix and Mingle? I thought that was announced last week or so.
