Villians Sinister Soirée

Here's the issue. You're jumping in here to argue with many of us who have been attending (and loving) these parties for at least 10 years. Year after year, we see the reductions and there is absolutely no doubt about diminished value. We've seen numerous cuts over the years: fewer characters, fewer M&G interactions, reduction in fireworks, less (and cheaper) candy. Do you recall a time when you could have a commemorative party family photo, all included with admission?

If you want to create a list of changes, go right ahead. I only wish you could create a more exhaustive one detailing all of the reductions over the years. I have a feeling it would change your tune.

:thumbsup2

We have tried to meet villians after the Mix and Mingle and unless you are very pushy you may as well forget it. The extra party gives those of us who are not quite so pushy a chance to meet them. Also my daughter saw the princes last year and they did not have long lines, my guess is not all that many people are going to miss them.

Last year, we did two Mix and Mingles and met every Villain except Hook (because we didn't care as he had met him a week earlier on a Disney Cruise)

I'm not afraid to throw some 'bows, but that's definitely why we bought two days of tickets.... To,avoid the scramble!

I think PP. is just looking to see why people are so up in arms and exactly irks them ..

As for me a DVC member for 20 years I have seen a lot of change some bad some good.. But at the end of the day it's your choice to do a Disney vacation and give them your $...

I saw mix and maul last year LOL it was so crowded

I was just looking at pictures from the 'top 5 things to do at MNSSHP' posted in another thread and saw him. But I don't see him on Kenny's map.

Governor Radcliff was at the Monsters Inc dance party in Tomorrowland with the Toy Story characters, at least that's where he was last night about 11!

VM&M was chaotic, no doubt, but at least there was a chance--and a good one if you did a little research.

I so agree with this. Last year was my first party, and I read many reports on the disboards, as well as the ones from Kenny the Pirate and easywdw's sites. I'm not good with roaming characters, I'm not pushy enough at all, but I knew Maleficent would meet on the left side of the stage and I met her with no problem at all. The line to meet her wasn't chaotic from my point of view. And after meeting her, meeting both Hook and Frollo was easy - we waited a few families for Hook, and Frollo was a walk-up. And this was a sold-out party.

Wow. He got around. We saw him at Club Villain.

The whole soirée thing just really feels kind of underhanded to me personally. But, we've decided to keep both days of party tickets. With the timeline, the soirée almost completely obliterates any chance of just enjoying the party itself, so we will use those one day for that.

This is a great point. They make you pay the $70 for the basic MNSSHP admission, and another $99 for the VSS, but the people who go to the VSS won't really receive much value from their base ticket. After one congregates in the meeting area, watches the fireworks from a sub-par location, moves into the Soiree, enjoys that, and makes their way out, there isn't really much time left to walk around the park, enjoy the decorations, meet characters, ride rides, etc. To get the full MNSSHP experience, one would have to buy a second ticket for a different night. $70+$99+$70 per person.:scared:

Then he complains that he spent 4 hours on this event out of a 5 hour party. I don't understand that part.
See above. While the time in the Castle might only be an hour or so, the total time devoted to this event sucks most of the time out of the main event, for which you have paid $70. I think that is what he was trying to convey, and the reason why aaarcher86 has bought a second night's admission for her family.

I think I included everyone? Here is a list for what has changed from 2013 and 2014. Let me know if I missed anyone? :thumbsup2

I'm not arguing with anyone. I've been attending these parties since 2006. I think I can weigh in with my thoughts and put a list together.

There are threads filled with 10yrs of grievances. My goal was a list of changes since last year -- a very common question. No harm in that.
