Villians Sinister Soirée

No there isn't. I suspect part of the issue is that it is.coming across as very dismissive...as "its only xyz characters,.it.isn't a big deal.". Not saying that's the intent, but that's how it is reading

Don't mean to be dismissive at all! Remember -- I'm the one who seeks and likes common ground!!! :)

I'm just on my cell and trying to get a list together to answer the question so many of us have: WHAT HAS CHANGED FROM LAST YEAR?! That's all.

Apologies if the brevity comes across as dismissive. :)

Don't forget to mention you also get to pay an extra $99 per person. That's a difference.

Fair enough. Agree to disagree, perhaps, on how many people will feel this way. Could be wrong.

Many people wouldn't feel like this. Some people have never been to the Halloween Partys before. Some people might not care about the characters that have been removed (although many people are far from happy Maleficent and Flynn Ryder aren't offering meet and greets)

However selling tickets for the same money, reducing characters (not just one or two) and then asking people for more money than the party ticket just to be able to meet the characters that used to be included in the regular party ticket? :confused3 This just feels greedy of Disney and it would make me reconsider attending MNSSHP. Last year we attended 4 Halloween Partys. This year, I wouldn't even consider more than one if that.

Can anyone clarify whether you can take pictures with the characters that come around to the tables? I know they won't sign autographs but at least pics with them?

Yes they go table to table and also interact.. Is been posted on twitter..

WDWNT conclusion at end of soirée--> "Villains Sinister Soirée was truly wonderful. Absolutely worth the money. We had a fabulous time. I'm so impressed."

I think a lot of how this is being received has to do with the importance one places on character meetings. The problem is that many get their character fix at MNSSHP. For them, these changes are HUGE. For others who go for the feel, the ambience, trick or treating, maybe a few rides........ eh, not such a big deal.

I've gotta jump off DIS for now, but thanks all for the dialogue and help putting a list together!!! :)

ITA. I do get that -- totally valid. :)

Here's the issue. You're jumping in here to argue with many of us who have been attending (and loving) these parties for at least 10 years. Year after year, we see the reductions and there is absolutely no doubt about diminished value. We've seen numerous cuts over the years: fewer characters, fewer M&G interactions, reduction in fireworks, less (and cheaper) candy. Do you recall a time when you could have a commemorative party family photo, all included with admission?

If you want to create a list of changes, go right ahead. I only wish you could create a more exhaustive one detailing all of the reductions over the years. I have a feeling it would change your tune.

I disagree with this. Last year we attended the party for the regular cost of the MNSSHP Ticket.

We met Flynn Ryder, Prince Charming, Prince Phillip and Snow Whites Prince. All four of them have been removed now.

For villains we met Maleficent, Doctor Facilier, Captain Hook, Cruella Frollo, Snow Whites Queen. Unless we pay an extra $99, we can only meet some of them at a dance party where we can't even get good photos since they don't actually pause for photos.

This is a significant reduction in value for us as we go only for the villains. If I have to pay an extra $99 for a rushed dessert party, it's no longer worth it.

We have tried to meet villians after the Mix and Mingle and unless you are very pushy you may as well forget it. The extra party gives those of us who are not quite so pushy a chance to meet them. Also my daughter saw the princes last year and they did not have long lines, my guess is not all that many people are going to miss them.

I thought he was replaced by Lotso?

I do believe Lotso is there, yes. And in the interest of balance, the Hag appears to be meetable this year--she has not been seen for several years.

VM&M was chaotic, no doubt, but at least there was a chance--and a good one if you did a little research.

As for princes not being popular...gonna disagree with you there. :goodvibes
