Villians Sinister Soirée

They are shocking me left and right lately. I HOPE I am just being cynical here. Better yet I am REALLY hopeful that the majority of the attendees come back and say they loved it. :thumbsup2

The only thing that SHOCKED me was the "nope... We won't give the privilege of riding STANDBY... And nope... We didn't say so ahead of time". Sounds like an intern project... "Ok... Sure... Let's try it!!" Eesh.

And I agree... HOPING the soirée is a blast, and that all characters are available SOMEWHERE to all MNSSHP attendees. :)

Have to admit, ALL good points from both of you...ok maybe it's just my time to be " out on the ledge " maybe not, I just don't feel like a happy camper right now.

Yes, we have created the monster of " we bought it but we don't know exactly what we bought ( the soiree' ) ". I never liked " grab bags " as a kid. I rather know exactly what's in there. I should have waited on that, not their fault. Mine.

They better not change there stance on refundable if any of us decide to jump off that ship. See that's it in a nut shell, I don't TRUST the company anymore. They seem to be talking out of both sides of their mouth.

I get it. I reached my breaking point over FP+. That is why we are staying on site at Universal and just doing a hard party ticket to WDW vs a 4 day park hopper w/ a deluxe resort stay. If my daughter was old enough for HHN, we'd go to that instead, but I don't think she can handle scareactors in her face at 11.

Today's blog says MAYBE you'll see those characters. So that's not even a guarantee. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2014/08/disney-parks-blog-weekly-recap-248/

I'm not even going to look at that stupid blog anymore, it frustrates me every time I do. I will reserve judgement until October 1st, after they have a month to get their act together. I don't think there is any way that I would have paid to go to this tomorrow. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for reviews, I think they have A LOT to work out here.

Sounds to me like they're being cutesie with their phrasing... "Lady Tremaine takes over Cinderella’s Royal Table after everyone has gone to bed, and she’s invited some of the most evil friends and special guests for a decadent dessert party (maybe you’ll see the Evil Queen, Maleficent, Cruella de Vil or Dr. Facilier?)."

In any case... I'm waiting for the first few soirées now... Sick of all the minute changes on the blog. Crazy breed we are to keep checking it as much as we have, honestly!! LOL!!

:crazy2: I'm right there with you. In fact too much of my life has been wasted on clicking on that link. It's a beautiful day out, I could be doing laundry, hanging out with the dogs & the horse, maybe even read a book ! In fact that's a wonderful idea. See you all later.

I wonder if Kenny or Josh or any of the Disboards mods or anyone are going ?

KtP already said he wasn't going to splurge on the Soiree unless he has changed his stance. I think even he is getting close to his breaking point.

totally OT, but every time I see something chef mickey or a disney themed kitchen related piece I think of you. I totally don't mean that as creepy stalker as it sounds! ROTFL!

:laughing:Well Hi ! I got into your head did I ?

We DO love Chef Mickeys since the restaurant was down in the old Marketplace. Now I'll be looking for you around the boards too cassiejo :)

Welcome to the Dis, I just realized you're fairly new , we have a nice group here.

Haha, yes you did! Thanks for the welcome. :D

It has been so much fun to gather info, plan, and to read the varying experiences on topics all things Disney. A lot has changed since I went in 2009 and I enjoy the discussion aspect, even if I don't always contribute since I haven been to the World in awhile. People may have different opinions, but from what I have seen (while lurking in the shadows) is that many posters are respectful. I for one always think that the best opinion is an informed opinion!

Glad I found the site and I look forward to continuing to read about people's trips and changes in the parks. Thank you to all the dis vets for making me an informed consumer!

I'm trying to get an idea of how the particulars would work for the soiree but not sure when and where things take place. I have a 9:50 reservation time for the soiree on 10/28. It is my belief that you must report to Guest Services after 4:00 on the day to receive a ticket or wristband, then before parade report to either CRT or the parade viewing location? Parade at 8:15 then where to go before the 9:30 fireworks? Then after fireworks to CRT for the actual "soiree"? Could anyone help me clarify the details? Hopefully after the first party there will be clarification.

I am confused also.
This is what they say:

"To check in for the event, guests must visit the Will Call booth outside the main entrance of the Magic Kingdom between 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Guests may begin checking in at the parade and fireworks viewing area, located in the central plaza by the Castle Forecourt Stage starting at 7:30 p.m. where they’ll receive wristband identification, which must be presented to enter the preferred viewing areas and Cinderella’s Royal Table."

I am confused because we are arriving at the Magic Kingdom at noon that day and I can't figure out if this means I have to leave the park at 4:00 to check in at the Will Call booth?

Hopefully the details will become clear but we are going to the 2nd party 9/9 so I'm trying to figure everything out.

Any recommendations for switching from late soiree to early one on Sept 26th Friday? Worried my kids can't make it to 1145.

I am confused as well! We have the soiree for October 5th. It says in MDE at 11:35. I can't wait to hear reviews about it

I called the regular 407-WDW-DINE yesterday and asked if she could help me. Said the option " Something Else".

I switched our early one to the latest one for 10/24. Just had to verify who I was and she was pleased I had the original confirmation number. FYI- The confirmation # will stay the same. I didn't wait long at all.

I did the same yesterday and luckily had the confirmation handy as well, which I agree the CM seemed happier that I had that. Just no luck during the middle of the day. Im guessing my only chance is attempt to call twice a day or something like that.
