Villains sinister soiree 2015?

The regular party is less than it once was.

How exactly?? The meet after the villains show thing? How you know that weren't going to do away with that anyway.

That's the problem. The soiree last year did take away from the party. The mix and mingle change (where they took away the mingle) allowed for Dr. Facilier to be taken to the Soiree (I can't remember if there were more), sure, he was also at the dance party in Frontierland later, but there's no photo-ops/M&G at the dance party.

You're right though that no one is forced, but Disney dropped the ball with advertising what they were doing. Had people been aware of the changes early enough, it could have swayed their decision about attending the party and such, instead of getting the surprises they did (like I said, I was at the 2nd party, so I was looking rather intently at reports from the 1st party). I also made sure that when questions came up after I got back that I supplied answers to help future guests for 2014.

I agree last minute they should have done it sooner.. But they refunded anyone who felt they wanted their $ back.

Oh, I know they refunded people. My girlfriend never got her allergen free candy at city hall because the line was so long for refunds, and that was at midnight! Yes, Disney is in the making $$ business, but they had 1 super poor event (Villains Unleashed) and then the mixed bag of the MNSSHP. I'd have to imagine that after the first few parties and our reports from them that people going later in the season were ready and knew these things were confirmed, so Disney didn't lose as much later as it did at the start.

Yes, they took away meets and made them exclusive to those who paid even more. That's how, exactly. I won't play in hypotheticals. You said "the regular party is still the same", and it is clearly not.

I was super pissed about the removal of the villains, but I also wholeheartedly loved the soirée and reserved viewing area.

I'd love for them to keep,the soirée and put the villains back into the main rotation. I thought it was in really poor taste to remove something specific to the party and charge more for it.

The soirée seemed to get rave reviews though, so it'd surprise me if they completely took it out. Particularly with the high price point.

The viewing area and party was worth it. Unlike the fireworks desert party which did once and was a rip off.

Did you attend the party 10x in the same year, lol? Seriously, youtube the BTY parade the past several years and you will see the differences...

They initially announced that specific villains would be available at Fairytale Hall, thus removing the princes. Then they sold thousands of tickets, pulled those villains, and did not give the princes back. They also took away the "mingle" after the castle show, and reduced the showing from 4 to 3.

AND instead of at least having the princesses meet with their princes like in the past, it was just princesses meeting alone. The exact same experience you could get during any park day.

Yea I tapped every one and compared them.. All experts... so now that cut the parde short because of the villains sorrie?

Yes but seems the mingle ain't coming back no matter if they bring back the villains sorrie or not.

Sorry, if I wasn't clear...Disney originally announced that villains would be meeting with princesses. THEN they said "Nope, villains will only meet at the soiree." But by then it was too late to cast the princes, so instead the princesses met alone. A decision that they made to have the villains only at the soiree affected a traditional MNSSHP offering. That was my point.

It also was extremely hard to even get a ticket to the soiree, I got luckily and a cm found a table for me as it was starting.

Keeping all the villains trapped to the event where it was limited seating was a very poorly thought out move by Disney. I have no problem if you want to charge for an event - but don't make the draw of halloween meeting the characters so limited that it can be sold out instantly.

You claimed the party is still the same. I and others have pointed out exactly how it is not in at least a couple of ways. I'll leave the discussion with that.
