Villains sinister soiree 2015?

Keeping all the villains trapped to the event where it was limited seating was a very poorly thought out move by Disney. I have no problem if you want to charge for an event - but don't make the draw of halloween meeting the characters so limited that it can be sold out instantly.
But keeping it highly limited was the only way to make it viable with the villain M&Gs. If they hadn't restricted the number of Soiree tickets the viewing area would have been overcrowded and people would have had a hard time meeting the villains in the allotted time during the Soiree (much like what happened with the woefully oversold Villains Unleashed event).

The idea was great, suprised that Walt isnt doing another this year. I love the Disney villains I'd like to see a area after dark where Capt Hook and friends may walk around and loot so to speak.

Eh, we will just disagree I think. The only negative in reviews I recall was the desserts being meh and that it felt a little short.
Totally agree ^^^. I don't recall seeing any reviews from people who flat-out hated it. Just things they hoped Disney would tweak in future parties. Which is why I'm a little surprised the Soiree could be off the table for this year, the feedback last year incredibly (and overwhelmingly) positive.

Sorry, if I wasn't clear...Disney originally announced that villains would be meeting with princesses. THEN they said "Nope, villains will only meet at the soiree." But by then it was too late to cast the princes, so instead the princesses met alone. A decision that they made to have the villains only at the soiree affected a traditional MNSSHP offering. That was my point.

Got you ..

The fact that they did not continue it with the Christmas parties (they could have used Frozen as the theme), tells me that it did not work as well as they expected. Just because it sold out doesn't mean they made money on it or enough money to make it worth the backlash it caused. They had the expense of keeping the castle open, the cast members, etc.

Ohh I bet they made $$$ The desserts were just ok nothing was overspent there. It was all about the character interaction.. Which was awesome and with the $ IMHO. Backlash?? LOL its Disney $$$ is $$$..

Given the large increase on MNSSHP tickets this year, they are getting their soirée money back and then some. Now that we are all paying for the characters, hopefully that means we are all equally able to meet them. I have no doubt they will do some sort of dessert/preferred viewing add on, but hopefully the characters will remain separate so everyone can enjoy them like it used to be.

The soirée seemed to get rave reviews though, so it'd surprise me if they completely took it out. Particularly with the high price point.

Even if everyone who attended loved it and got their money's worth, we have no way of knowing how many people complained about having the characters taken out of the regular party to do that.

I really thought it would be back this year. If it isn't, I would have to guess complaints were high.

I think the soiree was very popular for those who actually had the good fortune to book it. I also think that it resulted in many complaints from literally thousands of other guests who were shut out of it. And I think THAT's the reason why something similar wasn't extended at MVMCP and why it seems to have been discontinued this year. The "cost" (i.e., complaints from those who didn't attend) outweighed the "benefit" (i.e., the admission price for the few who did attend).

Weren't the deserts the allure of the party :p. Listen I'm only spouting some hatred since I could t get in no matter how hard I tried.

However for 100 dollars a person id prefer a small buffet or maybe not just a platter of the deserts and ensure that I got photos with all the villains.

I would also like photopass there too that would rock.

Well, not for us! I don't really eat dessert and my mum is allergic to chocolate (the horror!).

We really just went for the characters and the reserved spot was a fantastic bonus! I'm still not a fan of it being the only way to see the villains though! I'd love for some kind of compromise.

I don't think Dsney cared if people complained about the cost alone. If anything it was cause of the other reasons. Either you were willing to pay teh $ or you werent.

We shall see but I’m betting they do something just gotta wait and see what exactly what it is..

The reserved spot alone was worth it lol

The deserts were interesting it was kinda hit or miss though, I did not enjoy the apple thing at all it had an odd taste. The drink though was great and i wish i knew what was in it cause i think i had like 5 glasses that night.

OMG, I didn't mean cost literally as in the dollar amount of the admission price. Did you not see my parenthesis? I was referring to the COST to Disney--all the guest complaints from non-attendees.

What did the drink taste like and it's so funny the apple was the worse cause j was dieing to try it!
