Villa or Townhouse?

Booked to go back to WDW on the 6th Feb for 16 day's , my question is do we book a townhouse or villa?, there's 4 Adults and 2 Children and my theory is that I don't really think we'll use the pool that much in Feb and a splash pool will be quite adequate for my 10 & 8 yr old!

We rented a villa - 5 bdrm/3 bath (4 adults, 3 teens, 2 children) with a pool and were very happy with our choice. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, it was private and on a quiet street and backed up to conservation land. We were there in August and really enjoyed having our own pool!

We usually go in Feb/ Mar. and always get a pool home but make sure you get the pool heated. Even if the temp outside is cool the pool is nice and warm and you're only a couple of steps from your house. But the temp in Feb can surprise you and be really warm also. Who knows?? A splash pool will also work for you as long as you think that all of you won't be using the pool at the same time.

We stayed in a townhome (K/Q/2T) this January and loved it (2 adults and our 4 and 6 year olds). We chose a pool home (5 BR/5 Bath) for next year since my parents will be joining us and I thought we would appreciate having more room and also the game room and larger pool. The cost difference was about $50 per night between the two places. I think you would be very happy either way and I would look at both and probably get quotes for both before deciding.

We have gone from booking villas to a townhome - plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids still. We tend to go for somewhere with community facilities so there is always the chance the kids will meet others to play with at the pool etc. That was the main downside we found with a villa - you never met anyone else! Us Irish as sociable people and like to chat with others

If you are sure you are not going to use it, why pay for a pool? - personally, we value our time relaxing in our 'own' pool and would not go without one.

We have always rented a pool home. In May we rented a 4b3b pool home and it was wonderful. We are again going in Dec and for the first time will be renting a 3b2b condo. I don't know why but decided to try this option. I hope all goes well.

We have rented both. Really both are great if they have the amenities that you want and if they have good prices. I would just make sure that you have plenty of bedrooms for everyone. The first time we stayed in a town house, we had two bedrooms and used the pull out couch. It was okay, but after that time we made sure to have bedrooms with real beds for everyone. In our experience, kitchens/living rooms/dining rooms in town homes are a lot smaller and there is usually a little less room to spread out. The first town home we stayed in, only had a table that sat 4 people and we had 6. They did have a breakfast bar, which helped. For 16 days though, I might go for something a little bigger. Also, we are from Maine and we have always used the pool in February.

Many thanks for all you replies , my DH definately want's us to book a villa again, and it's me that's looking at a Townhouse, I just don't think I can really justify spending all that money on pool heating when I'm pretty sure we'll hardly use it , as we're one of those families who leave early for the parks and return late , oh well we'll keep searching I think

I'm puzzled why you wouldn't book a home just because of paying for pool heat you might not need. Surely it's not worth ruining your entire vacation just because of a few $$$'s?

Personally I value my vacation time and am prepared to pay to enjoy myself... maybe you Brits get too much time off?
