Villa booking rant

And as much as I love the Dibb I agree with the post above, the reason people want their adverts on theDibb is because they know that people trust the dibb and have a great deal of respect for the site. When things go wrong then the Dibb need to apply a little pressure to the villa owner to put things right.

I also think that people should be able to post good and bad reviews of villas they have stayed in, only allowing good comments is a little unfair. Its ok to say sort it out between themselves but if it isn't sorted out then no future customers are warned at all that there are problems. I think it would be far more honest if people could post about a problem and then say how it was resolved rather than it never being posted it all. I doubt anyone would have thought any the less of an owner who had a problem but sorted it out promptly.

Totally agree with above post. The Dibb has a great reputation and that was one of the reasons I activley participate on that forum and that is why I booked a villa from there. I agree that the website should mediate if things go wrong as I believe not 100% sure that they get a fee from the owner for advertising on their site. Feedback should be allowed, and a dedicated section should be allocated for renters to give their honest and accurate opinion on their villa. If a owner responds quickly to someones complaint then that would work in their favour. Remember people pay a lot of money to hire these villas and if somethings go wrong it does put a damper on the whole holiday and many arguments between man and wife well in my case it was.;)

I've just re-read the thread I made elsewhere when I had my villa problems, I can laugh a little about it now but at the time the lies from the owner were just :sad2:

He even had the audacity to then post a testimonial on his site from someone with my initials in the month that I stayed there as

what a nightmare, there was a power cut for 2 days throughout Liberty Village, but ***** the management agent sorted another home for us, and we were so glad to be back in your home again. It's quite the best home we've ever stayed in. Thanks to both you and ***** for sorting everything so promptly, I'd worried that without a Tour Company things could go wrong, but you proved even when they do, there is a 'friend' near at hand to help.

:rotfl:

Last time I got my car serviced it came back with a large scrape and a very damaged tire. My family said to me, "Bet you won't use them again" to which I replied "Well it all depends how the garage deal with it now. If they handle it well I will absolutely use them again as they will have proved they are trustworthy but if they don't then I will not." As it so happened, they analysed the CCTV, found nothing but decided it could have happened when it was taken for a test drive and so they repaired my car, replaced the alloy wheel that was damaged and gave me a courtesy car for the day. My point is there is nothing wrong with a review stating that there were problems especially if it states that the owner/management company took steps to resolve it. Sometimes, it could even work in their favour. Things can go wrong with villa bookings, it is how it is resolved that is key, and a review is a perfect place to be able to address that kind of thing in :thumbsup2.

Totally agree just wish the owner would.

Don't give up, that's what they hope you'll do.

Do you know if they advertise elsewhere?
