Viggle App: Get rewards for watching television!

I'm seeing on MSN that the race is delayed until 7:00pm. :surfweb:

Thanks to the other poster for letting everyone know about the delay! I wasn't aware when I posted the start time as noon...

I noticed that Viggle had some bugs during the Oscars. During one of the prediction questions it didn't lock in until after the winner was announced! So I had time to change my answer to the correct one! :rotfl2:

It seemed to me that the points for the Oscars were like 70% based on guessing the winners correctly. Not a lot of random trivia like they did for the Grammy's. But I still did pretty well. :goodvibes

The All Star Game was pretty hard...I agree with tink576. It was pretty difficult googling basketball answers!

All in all, I love the Viggle live events. One of my favorites was for the Superbowl (The Viggle bowl). That was a blast!! :cheer2:

I wonder what the next Viggle Play Along event will be?

You can only check in for DVR'd shows using the audio recognition feature. But that feature is not working right now. They told me, by e-mail, they would have that fixed soon.

If you read their FAQ, it explains that you can't manually check in to DVR shows.

awesome, thanks for the update!:thumbsup2

This morning after our points finally updated, (the points were terrible updating last night) we ended up averaging +14,000 points from yesterday. We learned very quickly on that no matter the question, whatever my sister randomly selected - that was the correct answer...it happened EVERY TIME...and she knew nothing about what the questions were on...I think some of the Oscar contestants should have paid her to predict them because she had an uncanny knack of getting it right

The audio feature for DVR shows works now. I've been doing it for the past week on shows like Gold Rush, Lost Girl, etc. Works great!

They are doing some kind of American Idol thing on Thursday night

Thanks for the heads up!

I was just reading some comments that Viggle members are posting on FB. Some have mentioned that they have already redeemed for an Amazon Kindle and almost have enough points to get another one, but they would prefer other high-end rewards. Wow, that's a lot of points! :faint:

But I guess my point total since I joined Viggle would have been enough for a Kindle also. (But not enough for 2 Kindles! lol) Had I though of just doing Target from the start, I would have about $90 by now! :headache: That's ok, I've enjoyed the other gift cards I've gotten.

Still keeping an eye out for those Target cards.....nothing yet. popcorn::

Phew - I'm exhausted after the Oscars! :rotfl2: I do think it was a lot of fun, but unfortunately I don't think I got nearly my points, but I have no way of knowing really. I had my husbands and mine going and before they started, one was 6,000 points less and this morning, they are only 1,000 a part so clearly the other one didn't get about 5,000. No worries I'm just waiting on the Target gift cards to come back in stock and I'm really hoping for the 21,000 points one again. I hope one of us catches them in stock so we can let each other know.

Yep, the NASCAR race is postponed and hopefully it will run at 7pm as the weather is still iffy. This is all making my husband a little on edge as it's his favorite race of the season and he wants to watch it NOW :) I need him for his NASCAR brain for more points!! :rotfl:

I also saw the note about playing along with American Idol on Thursday so I wonder what that is about. ;)

I also so that on FB about people get that many points. We just started about 3 weeks ago and I thought I was doing good ($45 in Target GC) I did also see on FB that people were really upset about not get points right away. The way I look at it is it is free money for doing something that I do anyway. So something is wayyyy better than nothing.

Please let me know if someone sees Target GC back

how do you do a dvr'ed show?
is it in the FAQ?

Start playing your DVR show. I usually extend my recordings a few minutes on each end, so make sure you are checking-in when the show actually starts.

So play your show, go to the "check-in" screen in Viggle. And check-in. If the audio matches, then you'll see that pop up window with your show displayed. (Just like when you watch live tv.) Pretty easy to do!

If the audio is not able to match, then you are out of luck. Because with DVR shows you can't manually check-in. I have had a few DVR shows that failed to check-in with audio...so I missed out on those points. It's gonna happen every now and then.

Under FAQ's look for the following question: Does Viggle work with recorded TV shows? Answer is basically what I said above. Viggle says it only works with shows recorded within the past 7 days.

Yep! I also did a DVR'd show last week and checked in fine. It was the Amazing Race and although I didn't get the "bonus" points they offered when it was live, I still got 100 points for watching something I was going to anyway!

I just have to remember to do this on the DVR shows!

thank you:thumbsup2, i'm going to try it in a minute, i am "watching" who wants to be a millionaire right now.
the other thing i see you mentioned is you set your shows a few mins. before and after, i tried doing that and it never worked for me, but i am going to test it out again, only because i always miss coming attractions because it RUNS OUT, kwim?
for the 1st show i tried today, it kept telling me i had too much background noise and i had to do it manually, so i hope it works with my dvr show.
thanks again

wish me luck:thumbsup2

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to stop watching a show. I ask because in the middle of the oscars last night I was close to my 12 hours mark for the day and was not sure how to get out of watching the rest of the show so I would not be penalized for going over the allottted 12 hours in a day. I tried logging out but when I did log back in it still showed I was checked into that show. Yikes!! Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I haven't figured that out. My only guess would be to log out and stay logged out? I have no idea.

Wait??? What is this that you can only do 12 hours of TV. I must have missed something? Please help. I am still trying to learn all of this

I couldn't help it, I had to e-mail Viggle and inquire about Target gift cards! :o

They gave a pretty general answer. "Thank you for your feedback! Sorry but we don't know ahead of time when or if rewards will come back."

When they were out of the Amazon gift cards a few weeks ago, at least they were telling people, "We placed an order and they'll be in soon." (I remember reading this on FB and Twitter.)

So I don't really know what to think about this.
