As a DVC memeber can you visit other DVC locations? We're hoping to see
the accomodations at a few of the properties to determine where to stay in the future.

Sure. You don't have to be a member to visit. Just stop by the front desk and I'm sure a CM will be glad to show you a room if they have one cleaned, and you're obviously free to prowl around the grounds.

If you go to SSR, they have models of each unit available for viewing.

Just to clarify, the models at SSR are only of the SSR rooms. When the sales center was at the Boardwalk, they had sample rooms for all of the on-site DVC resorts. Stopping in there you could see the layout and decor of each property.

The models were created out of need as new resorts were added to the program. But when the sales center was relocated to SSR, there was no need to replicate the models for resorts DVC was no longer actively selling.

If you're a newer member, I highly recommend trying to attend the weekly member meeting at 4pm Wednesdays at SSR. It lasts about an hour. They'll give you a lot of good information about goings-on relative to both DVC and WDW/DL as a whole. There are also little free gifts and door prizes handed out to attendees. After the meeting the model rooms are open for self-tours.

If that doesn't work, you can schedule a time to visit that fits your schedule better. I'd recommend calling ahead to set-up a time.
