We're leaving two weeks from RIGHT NOW!!!! for our first trip on points. Can we rent videos at the resort to play on the VCR in our unit? Does anyone know who much they cost and what the selection is like? (I'm trying to keep with packing under control, but a few good Disney movies are a staple for DD, who is 3 years old.)

We were in Hilton Head in April and the rentals were free at the store for DVC members. There were plenty of kid ones. Have fun!

Thanks VMS. Are we neighbors? I'm half way between Htfd and New Haven. Did you drive to Hilton Head? If so, how long did it take - we've heard 14 hrs and others have said up to 17hrs. Thanks again.

We live in New Canaan, and we drove to HH last April. We had never taken a trip this far with our 3 kids (5, 8, 11) so we didn't know what to expect. We left about 5am on a Friday, and got to Charleston in about 12 hours of driving time (we made a few short stops). We spent Fri and Sat night in Charleston and then went early Sun to HH to get the whole day there. Our room was not ready until 4, but we still used the pool and the kids did an activity. Charleston was a beautiful city, we're glad we spent a day there. Overall, driving back, the drive time was about 15 hours. We did have a TV/VCR in the car which I would highly recommend. We hope to do this trip again this year if we can get the 7 month ressies. I would recommend driving, since you need the car when you get down there. We spoke to people who had both flown down and driven down, and a lot of the people who flew down said they would drive next time based on what they had heard from people who had driven down. Have a good trip!

Thanks for the info (and the encouragement about driving!) DD is 3 and DS is 8 mos. Just can't wait to get there.

 We just came back from HH last week. They had plenty of movies to pick from if it doesn't rain, like it did to us. There is all a Blockbuster less than 10 minutes away. That's where we went.

We left Long Island, NY at about 8pm and drove straight thru the night with 3 gas stops it took about 14 hours. We also have a 4 year old and a 13 month old and the car tv helped out alot.
