can someone please advise on this restaurant? I want to take my parents somewhere special for their 40th wedding anniversary. we'll be going to Cirque for the 6pm show and then to dinner.

Also, has anyone done the Chef's table? How expensive is it and is it worth the cost for a special occasion?

Any suggestions appreciated

we have done the chef's table twice and it is indeed worth the cost. it was just my husband and me and the cost, hhmmm, about 2 years ago was $300/inclusive w/out the wine pairings. this is a dining event and will take approximately 2 1/2 hours. yes, go for it and be sure to mention when you book it is for your parents annivesary.

My fiance and I have eaten there twice, and each time it was an outstanding, memorable occasion. I wouldn't recommend taking kids, or going with any one who can't sit still for two hours.

You must get the wine pairings with your meal. They truly compliment your experience.

Unless something has changed recently, I believe there is only one seating per evening at the Chef's table and that is at 6:00(?)

I would imagine you could make the 9:00 regular seating at V&A after Cirque, but remember that the men must wear jackets.

As for the restaurant as a place to celebrate a 40th anniversary--could hardly think of a better place. It is a long meal and the menu changes almost daily. There are only several selections for entrees. etc each evening. The service is outstanding, the restaurant quite elegant.

I agree with EJandMd--the wine pairings are a must!!

The basic meal (w/o wine pairings) is $85.00 per person.

Victoria & Albert's on the 27th for our 13th anniversary. What a wonderful experience. I was a little apprehensive about making the PS as I am not an "adventurous" eater, but what a wonderful dinner this was! It did take us about 2 1/2 hours, but it was indeed an evening to remember. We did do the wine pairings, and I have to admit that by the end of the meal I was feeling pretty good!

I highly recommend that you give it a try.
