I really (REALLY REALLY REALLY!!) want to try V&A. The only thing stopping me is I had weight loss surgery in the last year so of course I don't eat much. My husband and I love fine dining and usually don't have any issues eating out- he just finishes what I don't. I understand they are pretty accommodating with dining prefrences, allergies and such. Not looking for a lower price or anything just curious how it would work.. So has anyone experienced V&A after weight loss surgery? Was it still worth it and enjoyable?
My husband has been deployed since thanksgiving and will be home in a few months..I'm just looking for something nice and romantic that can combine christmas, valentines day and our anniversary in 1! I have a list of a few other dining options but V&A is my number 1 pick.

I am sure they will bring you fewer courses if that is what you ask for. You are also not under any obligation to finish what they bring you. Your husband can finish them for you, if he wants to. As you mentioned, they would likely not lower the price, though.

1) You can simply not eat everything presented to you.
2) Let hubby eat it.
3) Although, his and yours still might be too much for him.
4) Unfortunately, V&A will not reduce the price.

5) As an alternative, try Shula's or Bistro de Paris
. . . great atmosphere - quiet and romantic with few kids
. . . you can share an entrée by simply asking for two plates
. . . and, they can divide the entrée or you can do it at table side
. . . now, he can still have a filling meal
. . . both are satisfied with the meal
. . . and, you save big bucks by buying one entrée

I'd say if you want to try V&A....try it. You will love it. The course are small, except for the desserts. They will be very accomodating, and maybe will give you something to take away instead of one of the desserts.

Skip the bread, eat only a portion of the fish and meat courses. The other courses are small servings and well paced. I would not skip a course as they are all amazing.

And the do let you take things to go. It's a not-to-be-missed experience.

And good luck with your weight loss! If you tell them about your surgery, they will likely be able to make low-calorie or other similar items for you.
