Vibrations in Aft rooms

We stayed in 8662 on the Dream last April and had no issues. But, I am now getting concerned about the aft room (8684) we booked on the Fantasy for next November. I really wanted the views from the very back of the ship, but reading some of these replies is making me second guess my choice. :confused3
We have 8632 on the Fantasy. Like you, I'm getting nervous now, too.

We had the Fantasy before the dry dock and honestly, we had some vibration when in the AFT of the ship (our cabin was midship, but another person we were travelling with was AFT) and the vibrations were fairly gentle and soothing.

We just got off the Dream in room 5192 which is the center back of the ship and whenever we were docking the noise and vibrations were really bad. It woke us up every time and would last at least 30 minutes. It is not that bad at 7:30 in the morning since we had to get up anyway but was horrible when we docked at 5 AM.

Does anyone know approximately what time the Dream docks at the various ports (Nassau, CC, PC)? I'm just wondering how early in the morning we can expect some vibrations.

Time can vary depending on weather and other things, so these are just from our cruises. Nassau has been between 8-9; CC on two was around 8 and this past trip it was a lot earlier at 7; PC is always very early around 5:30-6am. Look at your cruise itinerary and it should give you an estimated time for each port.

We sailed in 8188 on the Dream this past March. 8188 is the back, center room...looks straight down on the wake. No real issues until we docked at CC. The wind and waves were going the same direction and it took every bit of power to maneuver the ship....actually took 2 attempts to dock. Holy Batman, that ship was S-HA-K-I-N-G! But it was brief...then we were docked and enjoyed a cool, windy day at CC! I was really worried we wouldn't dock. Previous cruises (to ours) were unable to dock, but we managed.

We just cruised for the first time early June. We were in 9658 on the dream. We had some pretty rough weather so the rocking was way more noticeable than the vibration. we heard and felt the vibrations while backing into ports but not when we were sailing. It was a gentle wake up that we actually enjoyed. It was noticeable but nothing crazy.

I would love to know if the issue got fixed, as we were on the last sailing of the Fantasy before dry dock. The vibration in the Aft room was horrible! The 1st few days it was great but the last 2 nights anything on the bed was basically bouncing around. It gave me such a headache. Someone on the other side was talking about bad it was also. I love the subtle vibration and rocking of the ship, but this was much much more than that. When we walked down the hall, you noticed were it started. They really need to fix the issue if they haven't already because it really isn't fair to those who pay for those rooms in my opinion.

Not sure if it's right above it or not but we were in 9632 last Sept. Fantasy and it was pretty bad. Hoping they've fixed it after dry dock. Great room but the vibration was terrible. We moved to 9080 for this next cruise (I think you were in a room close to it and we took your advice about the verandah skin view :)

Any reports on if the vibration issue was fixed on the Fantasy? We've been in cabin 9674 on two cruise, the first time wasn't so bad, but the one last January was pretty bad and I usually don't have motion sickness issues. Debating if I want to book an aft cabin again for Feb. 2019.

We just stayed in 9674 on the Fantasy. This was only our second cruise. The first one, we stayed forward in 9510 in March 2016.

We felt shaking/vibration as mentioned above during docking maneuvers. I'm a pretty deep sleeper but did wake up enough to think "oh, we must be in Jamaica!". We did not notice any constant vibration. We didn't have any items that I felt needed to be secured because they were falling off of surfaces or anything like that. While underway in calm seas, I heard the lid to the ice bucket rattle a little, similar to if you had it in the car while you were driving.

Our other experience in 9510 was worse. The room creaked constantly. It was very noisy. I think the seas were more rough on that sailing as well.

If it helps, I rebooked Fantasy for 2018 and I am trying to get a 5E stateroom. We would be thrilled to be in 9674 again. The veranda was fantastic.

Thanks that helps. We've always liked these cabins except for our last cruise. I've rebooked them again.

We were in an aft facing cabin on Fantasy two years ago, on a family cruise, and the only time I really noticed any vibration was after we left San Juan and were making the high speed run to CC. They were running fast, and there was a very pronounced vibration in our cabin during that time. Anytime we were underway before that, and not pushing so hard, I didn't notice any noise or vibration. We're scheduled to go again in February in 9617, again aft facing and I'll be looking to see if the heavy vibration is still there.
