I went just for dessert on my last trip. It was just before the lunch rush at a slow time so we were seated right away. I even asked at the check in desk if it was ok and they were like "Why wouldn't it be?" Apparently my waiter felt differently. We were snacking around Epcot and only went for the zeppole. He gave us menus and I told him right away that we were only there for dessert. He asked if we were sure, the pizza was so good and he recommended this and that, and I said "No, just dessert thanks, we'd like 1 order of the zeppole". We both had soft drinks too. He said "Ok zeppole for you, and for you?" to my friend. Again we said, "no...one order, we're splitting it." So he brought our drinks and the zeppole over at the same time and we didn't see him again until I waved him down so that we could pay. He tried to get us to order more AGAIN. "Are you sure you don't want coffee? A drink? A pizza?".
I understand the more I order, the better he thinks his tip will be. I was fine with him asking once...even twice. But between the disgusted looks and the badgering about ordering more he kind of turned me off from wanting to go back for anything.
So yes, go in, order dessert....but don't be surprised if Stefano tries to upsell you.
