VGF - Standard View Requesting Room w/ Fireworks View

Looking to book a room with a nice view. Would prefer a monorail and firework view (which would require me booking a standard room) but I’m concerned if I book standard view then I won’t get that type of specific view and instead end up with a roof top or parking lot view. Because of that I’m debating just booking a lake view to guarantee a nice view, although I’d really to stay in a standard view room but with a view of the firework and monorail.

Does anyone have any experience or know how consistent member services is at accommodating specific room requests such as this - and whether they let you know in advance if they even are able to accommodate it?

Obviously it will be my first time staying at VGF.

Cheers!

There are quite a few standard view rooms at VGF that see the monorail. And the monorail is between the resort and the parking lot so it isn't uncommon to face that way but it's not right there so not bad IMO. The closest driveway is actually towards the wedding chapel.

There are no guarantees on room requests so it is completely luck of the draw. There are very few standard view rooms that will have a view of the fireworks. You have to be high floor and on the correct side of the building.

Have only stayed there a few times. Most of the Lake views are looking more towards the Poly than MK.

The thread in the link has DVC layout and photos. There might be some view from some rooms but IMO it would be fairly limited in regards to fireworks, when compared to say BLT or Poly. To view from resort you may be better off walking down to dock and watching from there.

You will not know if you got your room request until you receive your room is ready text or you check in at the desk and are given your room #. Honestly your room isn’t yours until you get the text with your room # (or are given it by the front desk)-they will move people the day of check in to accommodate rooms not being ready yet or people unhappy with their current room assignments

We had a great experience last April. I put in room number requests, but it seemed that one set of numbers were switched on their end. Paul from the villa front desk had called and asked about the room we wanted because it looked confusing to him because of the switch, we asked for a specific view like 1227,1327,1427. He was great and we got the room we wanted. Third time we have stayed there and gotten the exact same room, view of fireworks and fountain with a bit of the monorail.
