VGF Sales?

Has anyone heard what % of VGF have sold? I've been on the fence about adding on since they opened, but the $155pp (soon to be $165) has kept me questioning it?

We currently own BC, and it's hard to imagine anything better? Don't get me wrong, all DVC properties are wonderful, but comparing what the BC has to offer vs. GF is what I question the most.

Those who have stayed at both the BC & GF, please give me your feedback?

It's hard to compare the two because of how different they are.

If you only look at the rooms - Larger 1 & 2 bd, newer furnishings. The deco is very different and may not suit you. Studio has the murphy bed if that matters to you. The bathroom has 2 showers. I personally love the views at VGF more than BCV. Even the standard views with parking lot views have views of the monorail. If you prefer more trees, than VGF wouldn't work for you.

As for the resort itself, it really depends. My kids are young, I don't like dealing with the size if SAB with 2 little ones running loose. The kiddie play area is perfect for us right now. In 5 or so years, we'd probably prefer SABs. Restaurants are important to us as well. I'd say both are equal, with maybe more at BC due to the proximity to Epcot.

Fellow BCV owner here, who just recently stayed in a 2 bedroom at VGF. I booked the VGF because my boys were dying to stay there. I did not think that I would like staying there at all. I envisioned really long waits for the monorail as VGF is the last stop before the MK. I also wondered if VGF was too "fancy" for us - it just seemed so much more upscale than the other Disney resorts and we are a shorts and tee shirt type of family

After staying there, I can honestly stay that we ALL loved it - it is our most favorite Disney resort now. We loved everything about the resort. The wait for the monorail was never long, and we never had to wait for the next monorail because the arriving one was too full. The wait for the small boats to/from the MK was also very acceptable. The resort and grounds were absolutely beautiful, and the CM's working at the Villas were the nicest I have ever encountered. It was a perfect week at the most perfect Disney resort!

I agree 100% about the views from the rooms, BC doesn't offer too much there. I think the views and the newness are up there for key selling points for me.

Room size... I'll always use a studio if I bought into VGF. My thoughts were to use the VGF for just DW and myself and have the BC when bringing the grandkids?

We own both, and each resort has something different to offer. VGF is more upscale being that GF is Disney's flagship resort, my guess is that they have a bigger budget to work with, it feels more formal.

BCV is more laid back, more families and more kids, better pool for kids.

As "nalajms" said they are so different, and each has its strengths. We own 210 PTS at BCV (bought resale before 3/11) and 300 at VGF, and love both.

At BCV we love SAB, the beachy vibe, proximity to EPCOT, and the boardwalk. . Do not like the "tiredness" of the decor, or any of the views. Do not like the enclosed/hotel hallways, vs the open apartment feel at SSR. Don't like the remote parking. Especially we do not like the earlier expirey date (I am conscious of leaving a legacy for the kids).

At VGF we love being on the monorail, the Victorian theme (more formal, but still beachy), and great restaurants. . IMO it is a more adult place (with pockets of play areas for kids), and my kids are adults now so they enjoy it's more upscale aspects. Do not like the enclosed/hotel hallways vs the open apartment feel at SSR. Don't like the remote parking.

We love the BCV. Had all our points there until we added on at GFV. There are a few things that still puts the BCV ahead of the GFV for us. But GFV is a very close second. We love them both.

Although we love both resorts for different reasons, we now prefer VGF. We had a magical stay in a 3 BR villa with a lake view on the 6th floor. The room was spectacular! If you ever have a chance to book it for a large group or just for a special stay, I highly recommend it. A few of us also stayed in a 1 br for 2 nights and loved that room as well. The location, restaurants, monorail to MK, Epcot, Poly, and Contemporary/Bay Lake make it very to get around and enjoy the other resorts and many restaurants. Although VGF is more formal than BCV, the DVCs are a bit more relaxed and casual than the main hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had a nice conversation with one of the CMs in the lobby at VGF about the difference in the DVC guests vs. the main hotel guests. He said that the DVC guests expected more, stayed longer, were more relaxed, and were more interested in activities beyond the parks vs. the main hotel guests. He said that the CM staff was aware of the differences and working hard to accommodate the differences in needs.
