VGC will charge fee for switching rooms after check-in

Yes you'll get the MM entry every morning it's available - that's the key though, since MM is only offered on the days of the week specified regardless of which hotel property you stay in, and it does not matter if you are a DVC member or a regular non-member guest - it's not a daily occurance like at WDW where they mix it up between the 4 theme parks. As long as you are a resort guest staying in one of the resorts on any of the MM offered days you may use that benefit.

Did a CM confirm this to you? What you state above is the current offering for DLR guests. Given the wording on the site, it sounds like VGC members won't get this perk and would have to buy multi day tickets to get the 1 free morning like offsite guests. I can't imagine why they would do that, so we'd like to get clarification.

As I recall, the standard line for the DL hotels is that you get one magic morning entry with your stay. Currently, you get it for every magic morning that occurs during your stay, so I think the policy will the the same for DVC.

I disagree. I think it very clearly states that you DO get MM but that it is only available the same days it is to all other guests.

No, nobody confirmed that for me since it appeared on the member website, but I was going by what the hotel folks told me when I was there just a few weeks back, since I was asking about a few things that will happen when the new villas open, and that was one of them, will the MM entry program still be offered to villa guests. At that time the staff at the front desk said yes it would, since villa guests would still be guests of the DLR. Type of room was not a disqualifier - not having a room key was the only disqualifier. When I read the information on the website I didn't think anything of it since it clearly states being eligible in the asterisked section.

As far as having to buy multi-day tickets, I don't see that implied in the language either. What I see is that you have the ability to purchase DLR admission tickets at the hotel, for those guests needing to do so. Given the extremely large AP base that DL has vs. WDW, I can't imagine them taking a stance that all villas guests have to purchase multi-day tickets - what a public relations fiasco that would be. I agree that the language is vague, but I personally don't think it's will be what you are thinking it will be.

On our last visit, we bought 2 DL APes. We could have purchased them at the front desk except they couldn't give us the DVC discount on them. (I wonder if that will change when the villas open ? :) )

I think that still would have been a voucher since DL does photo passes. I think everyone ends up either purchasing or redeeming in the parks for their AP's.

Yeah, I think so too. I was actually quite amazed 2 weeks ago while in FL when I got my first AP there...it's just a paper ticket with no photo on it. I've had my DL one for 18+ years and I can't remember how long it's had my photo on it.

Yes, I was expecting to get a voucher and then redeem it for a AP. But, it would have avoided standing in a big long line at guest services--we could have used the voucher to get through the gates to get the APes issued.

But, on the other hand--since our APes had just expired in DEC, they were able to issue the APes (using the old photo) right there at guest services--and we didn't have to go get another photo taken, so that worked out pretty well in the end. :)

Going tonight, so I'll try and ask some of these questions. Since GC guests get early entry, and the expansion being both VGC and GC rooms I expect early entry for everyone. I'm also hoping for free Valet parking as well. I'd also expect views for VGC to be much better than the rest of the hotel, and if you don't like your view, go to the observation area on top at night and watch the show. :)

fwiw, I asked my guide about parking and he specifically said that there is a fee for valet parking but that the self parking would be underneath the villas and it would be complimentary for DVC members.

I'm hoping that's true. That makes more sense, easy parking for us and they don't have to comp valet. Other sources state the underground parking will only be valet, here's hoping it's valet and DVC!

I'll drink to that! We get a car when we go to CA, but never at WDW. It would be a bummer for the best DVC parking benefits to be on the cost we don't get a car for!!! DW & I simply don't use valet if there is a reasonable self parking option...
