Oh I am so confused. At first I thought that we should book everything on our 4 day cruise in July. Now I am thinking that maybe we should just enjoy the ship (since this is our first cruise). 4 days doesn't seem to be enough time to enjoy and explore the Wonder. Any suggestions? Veteran cruisers what would be your advice?

Well you may want to get off the ship in Nassau and walk around a bit. It is very interesting to view the island and get a feel for its culture. I agree though, the shorter cruises definitely go by fast so it is nice to stay on board and enjoy the ship when it has fewer people on board! :)

I agree with CarolAnnK. The very first time we cruised (Disney Magic), we made sure to check out Nassau. Because we weren't familiar with the area, we booked a shore excursion through Disney. On our next couple of cruises, we got more adventurous and did some things on our own. Now, we just stay on the ship and pretend that it's a day at sea. But every time we have cruised to new ports of call, we have made sure to get off the ship aned enjoy the local culture and activities (I still can't believe how much we squeezed into Alaska, including helicopter and dog sled rides, canoeing, and rafting through an eagle reserve, not to mention a sea plane ride). The ship is enjoyable, but it's lots of fun to see and experience new places.

Not a vet by any means............ but I do recommend getting off the boat and seeing the sites. Why not book a spa or Palo's on a day at dock in the afternoon and get off the boat first thing in the morning? The best of both worlds......

Either way, you will have a great time!

We have been on two 4 day cruises. On the 1st cruise we went to Nassau but were not impressed at all. On our 2nd cruise we stayed on board on the Nassau day and had the ship to ourselves and had a great day. In my opinion, a 4 day cruise is
too short to waste a day on Nassau versus being on that amazing ship.

We're doing the 4 day this May and are going to get off the ship and do Atlantis on our own. When we went on the 3 day in '99 we got off the ship to do some shopping in Nassau and went back to the ship in a short period of time 1-2 hours. While it was great having the ship so quiet we were disappointed later that we didn't go see Atlantis. It wasn't until we got home and saw a special about it to see how much we missed.

When we did the 7 day we got off and did an excursion at each island to get the full effect.

So my advise to you is do research (like you are doing by reading this great board) and see if there is something that would really iterest you. I'd also do some net searches on the islands involved. Then you can make up your own mind if you'd get more enjoyment staying on the ship or going exploring.
