Very odd question about drinks with shots 'on the side'

I would order the drink as is so the receipt is good for work and then tell the bartender you don't want alcohol in it and you're fine with paying full price. Speaking from experience from hiding my last pregnancy

And then you're speaking directly to the person who will be making your drink (instead of trying to play telephone with a server).
