Very Merry D23 Holidaze Dec 2009 TR - 7 magical park days! updt 7/1

I loved your mini TR! I've always loved Whoopi and it sounds like she added a little extra fun to the show! :)

Caitlin joined the D23 on New Years Eve when they had a slight price drop. I was like this :yay: when I heard about the party on March 5. We have actually been tossing around the idea of going that week so that pretty much seals the deal :woohoo:

Looking forward to an update from Dec popcorn::

LOVE the Photopass pics!! :goodvibes And I really enjoyed hearing about the Lion King show!! The next time that show comes to Memphis, I am going!

Thanks for the Lion King mini-trip report! I envy you, a lot!

So, what are you doing to make up to CJ? If I know him like I feel I do ( :goodvibes ) - he's gonna hold you to blowing him off for something super fun! I suggest a bowling night :thumbsup2

We officially need to plan a DIS outing sometime in February! We can do dinner at Hard Rock maybe? ;)

Thank you!

I miiiiight tihnk about March 5th. I'm really hoping beyond hope that their ticketing has VASTLY improved.

I definitely have to go back and see it from a much better spot. I do have more NYC pics from the real deal camera that I have to post.

Be prepared for Photopass pics!!! :lmao:

I'm trying to get into NYC more often and be blessed that I live next to a great city (other than Orlando/Kissimee/Lake Buena Vista) ;)

I haven't seen him since last Tuesday, but he actually had his bowling night canceled as we had quite a meltdown. We'll see how his behavior is for the next week ro so & maybe I'll surprise him with something fun. :)

Sure! I love Hard Rock. I do. I just think the place is cool. I've gone to HR's everywhere that I have visited, including internationally. :thumbsup2

Though, I did feel a little bad that I was wearing a HR hoodie at Disney. In fact, I'm wearing a different one right now. :rotfl:

I just wanted to post the rest of my pictures from the Lion King and NYC from my real deal camera.

Enjoy....

As I was out the other day, I decided to run a few errands after the gym. I remember dawnbu40 saying she was to her local Hallmark and get some Disney ornaments at 75% off or something close to that, so I decided to stop at one of our Hallmark stores since my errands were in the same mall.

I got some, but at 50% off, plus a Precious Moment Sugartown figure for only $5.95! Score!

Notice I got myself a Lion King ornament - loved these guys in the play! And of course, paid for it with my shiny brand-new Disney card! LOL!!! :lmao:
P1170049.jpg

LOVE the ornaments!! We have the Ariel and Snow White ones!! I hit the Hallmark sale, too and got some great ornaments for our Disney tree!! :goodvibes

Great pictures of the city!
Good find on the ornaments. We also got the Pooh and the LK ones but I would have loved to find the Snow White one on sale! I love the apple theming :)

Did I already mention that Shamus & I are thinking about a weekend trip to NYC? I am nervous cause I feel so prepared when we go to Disney, but going to NYC - I would be going blind! We may just venture to Boston for our first "parents only weekend" - that way if I need to get home to Madi I am only 1.5-2 hours away!

The pics look great though, I really do want to go! And the ornaments are fantastic!

Thank you!

This is actually the first time I bought Disney ornaments for the tree, so I surprised myself. I'm thinking to actually put one up this year. I haven't done so since my mom passed away 9 years ago.

Great pictures of the city!

It is cute. Plus my little Miranda loves Snow White! princess:

NYC is definitely the place to be is you want everything or have somethng specific in mind. But it is hectic & confusing. I still get completely turned around and I've lived here my entire life! If you want a relaxing weekend, then I would go to Boston, esp if you are nervous about Maddie.

Ok, update soon! :goodvibes

After Germany, I visited my next country of origin, Italy. I am full 50% Italiano (well, 25% Sicilian & 25% Calabrese, but I digress).

This pavilion is based on Venice, which is one of my favorite cities in the world. Since, I've been there, the likeness is very well done, only much smaller. Doge's Palace is waaay bigger. ;)

Beautifully decorated! Doge's Palace

PC050228.jpg

I was even able to get another PP pic and even took 2 different kinds! One of front of the Doge’s Palace & one in front of Zeus. My PP CM was really great and we had a nice chat about liking Disney World as she noticed I was solo.

I was also able to catch the Holiday Storyteller! And of course, took pics.

I think I scared her here? LOL!

I didn’t see anything in my book about HMs in Italy and one day, I will eat at Tutto Italia.

Here are the other beautiful Italy pavilion pics

In case you wanted to see the real Venice, here are my photos from July 2008. The service I used does not allow for individual posting, but that might be good because I took too many anyways. :thumbsup2

Next up! Home Sweet Home pavilion!

Great pictures of Italy! When we were there in Dec.2008 La Befana was one of our favorite storytellers! :)

Onto USA! USA!

I spent about 2 years here. :lmao: For some reason, I was just not leaving it.

First off, I did get some Winter Wonderland coffee at one of the carts for $2.75 at 2:16pm. It was fine; I needed something hot as it has been a bit cold. It has been raining/drizzling on & off and now it was getting a bit windy.

I passed a letterbox, which always makes me laugh

I caught a performance of Fife & Drum Corp – very patriotic.

I also checked out the Liberty Inn and took a pic of the Gingerbread House (sent a tweet out). I stayed around to see one of my most wanted, American Adventure. I have yet to see this!

THEN……

santa's here! santa's here! medium line...hmmm
2:29 PM Dec 5th

I saw Santa! I decided to join the line. It seemed not too long, but whilst I was dithering, it got longer, plus I got a phone call from my friend Mary. She was now in Epcot (she flew in earlier in the day) and made plans to meet up laters. I thought it would be faster & I would be able to make the 3pm show but alas I did not. But I met Santa!

i'm on line for santa at usa pavilion! it's been QUITE a weather day!
2:40 PM Dec 5th

I had the CM also take pics, but PP came out a lot better. Santa was so funny; I ended up sitting on his lap & he positioned me. I also gave away my second “CM thank you” to the girl who took my pic.

I got done a few minutes after 3pm & the next showing of American adventure is at 3:45pm, so I decided to wait, as this was really on my list of things to do. I took pics of the tree, went into gift shop and called Mary to let her know.

just met santa!! also took pic with my cam...it came out eh.

I headed into the Theater & realized that the Voices of Liberty was singing! I caught the finale. I wish I would have known they were there as I would have gotten in there way earlier!

As I was waiting in line, I realized that there was a HM in one of the paintings, but by now, it was so crowded by the painting that I would just catch it laters. What a production to get into the show! There was a decent crowd but the theater is very large. I went into the 4th or 5th row and today’s First Family was announced that there were there. This was an animatronic show and it was very very good!

The Precious Moments doll maker, Linda Rick, was also there selling & signing. I love Precious Moments, but not the dolls. I’m so disappointed that Disney doesn’t do the Disney/Precious Moments ornaments anymore.

Then I remembered to send a tweet out about the coffee.

also enjoyed the winter wonderland coffee..worth having once, i think.
3:52 PM Dec 5th

I got a call from Mary that she & her hubby were by Italy, so I turned back to meet up with them & hang for a bit. I was getting tired by now & definitely getting cold.

We walked back toward USA and did a few PP shots at USA as well as Mary’s husband took pics, but I haven't seen those yet.

Image0095.jpg

I sort of abandoned the rest of my plans for the countries since I was getting tired and wanted to hang with Mary & her hubby until their ADR at Grand Floridian for 7:40pm.

But I'll leave that for the next update. ;) But i'm not done with Epcot yet!

Mrs. Claus looks pretty jealous of you sitting on Santa's lap :lmao:

Sounds like a great day! I enjoyed all of the storyteller's when we went :thumbsup2

I'm so glad I went online since I never did get a chance to do it again.
