Very Merry D23 Holidaze Dec 2009 TR - 7 magical park days! updt 7/1

Ooooohhhh, let me know how it was! Are you doing a PTR/TR?

I'm soooo looking forward to the tours!

I'm not doing a PTR but I will be doing a TR and I will let you know when I start it :) I'm trying to plan things that we could never do on a "family trip" and so we'll be hitting Jelly Rolls on our first night.

I am planning to take full advantage of the car and visit all the Deluxe resorts to check out their gorgeous decorations, foodstuffs and hidden mickey's!. :goodvibes

Animal Kingdom Lodge:
Visit Mara for some zebra domes!

Boardwalk area:
Boardwalk Bakery
Beaches & Cream
Soda Shop?
Check out Jellyroll's?

Polynesian:
check out Ohana's
Kona Cafe (I'm not sure if this is a TS or a CS)

Wilderness Lodge:
decor only?

Grand Floridian:
Tea, Garden View Lounge

Contemporary:
Contemporary Grounds

I have no idea yet if I'm going to dedicate a half-day to this or visit a couple each night or do a tour my first day/last day. I'll figure it out sooner or later.

AKL- if you are there in the evening there are night vision goggles you can get to see the animals. I hope to try it this trip, it sounds really neat!

Poly - Have a drink at the bar/lounge area of Ohana. I recommend the Lapu Lapu!

Thanks Kat! ;)

I would love to do the night vision goggles; can non-resort people do that too?

If Lapu Lapu has alcohol in it, I can't have it. :sad2: That was part of the "not bad news, but not good news" doctor thing - no red meat, cheese, fat or alcohol. Sigh. Not that I have an overindulgence of any of those things.

I went to my parent's grave today to place flowers and a card for my mother's birthday today.
She would have been 70 today. :littleangel:

My father's 70th was in February. :littleangel:

I miss them terribly! :littleangel:

To get my mind off things, I thought I would post pics from my last December FL trip, which was December 2007.

If you remember from Post 1, I did quite a lot of things outside Disney as I did not go to any Disney parks then. I thought you guys might enjoy it or consider it in any future planning. I thought I would start with ICE! since there is an update on the front page of DIS.

December 11, 2007 - ICE! Exhibit at Gaylord Palms

Everything is made of ice, nothing but ice! It was sooooo cold, they had parkas to wear and my camera even froze!

Here's some pics from my NYC outing to watch Rob Thomas on WPLJ's (NY radio) "Late Show" gig. They broadcasted his mini-concert live.

I have a few videos on my YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/mymuse18

Though, I did not go to a Disney park, I did go to Seaworld, with my goddaughter.

Thanks for sharing all the pics! Your goddaughter is a doll and Rob Thomas isn't bad either :lmao:!
 to you as you remember your parents today!

So in other words..starve to death. LOL!

The pictures are awesome. I love the ice things. That is really cool. I never heard of that before.
Seworld looks really fun to. I've never been to the one in FL. We used to have on in Ohio and I went several times, but it's gone now. I wish it was still there, it was a great day trip for us.

Miranda (goddaughter) is a trip. I can't wait to see her in December.

Rob is a cutie :lovestruc. I'm going to see him on tour this November.

Thank you for my parents. They were pretty cool peoples. I found their wedding book the other day. I thought I lost it in the void that his my place.

Yeah, basically! All I could think of was cereal, eggs, salad and soup. I can have lean meat, thankfully.

ICE! was not only cool, it was freeeeezing! You can't spend too much time in there since you really do get cold. Totally worth it to see it once.

Seaworld was nice; I have gone there at least a couple of times over the years.

Glad you enjoyed the pics! :goodvibes

Yep anyone can do the goggle thing, I still need to verify a time when it starts but if i remember correctly it was just after dark.

I bet they's put pineapple juice or something in a pineapple for you! Or maybe just a drink in one of their neat tiki glasses!?

:hug: It's only been 3 years since I lost my mom, but I miss her all the time.

Loved the ice pics! I ahven't been to sea world since I was a kid!

Oh, then the Lapu Lapu will be fine! Da*n bad genetics!!
I'll definitely add night vision to the Wish List, sounds like wonderful fun!

It's been 8 years for my mom and 19 for dad. Sometimes, it feels so far away and others, like yesterday. :sad1:

But, I know, they would have been up for Disney trips! Well, maybe not so much at 70. ;) I would have loved to do something special for them at Disney for their 70th, but they Living Legacy closed. And there is no more bricks to buy that I know of.

I did a day trip to Winter Park, FL as well. It seemed like a nice place to go plus it had the Tiffany Museum. It had a lot of artistry-type shops; very laid back; lots of beautiful scenery and landscapes. :goodvibes

Winter Park - December 12, 2007

The Museum - no pics inside :guilty:

So, I have this little book that I carry around when something hits me that I need to do/visit/enjoy/etc at Disney, just a place to scribble things down in one place.

Wish List: Purchases
Disney Dollars - 2009
Vinylmations, DTD
Precious Moments ornaments, DTD
(DTD didn't have either in May :headache:)
Kidcot Passport, Epcot (?)

I don't have alot of purchases that I want. Perhaps a nice hoodie, if I can find my size. The one I got, is in my wrong size but I bought it anyway and did not actually yet to wear it. It's a little snug, shall we say? ;)

I am going to purchase a pretty shirt (sort of a golf shirt) and a pin from the D23 Boutique before I go. I'm not overly into Disney apparel, but this shirt is understated and red for Christmas. :santa:

You could bring that back and see if they have a alrger size this time around. I love mine. Just washed it the other other day! LOL!

:lmao:

I knew you would know what I was talking about!!! I don't think I even took off the tags yet. I still have the receipt in my Disney box.

For each park, I want to see if I can book:

Magic Kingdom - Tony's Town Square

Epcot - Teppan Edo or Le Cellier for Candlelight Processional

Animal Kingdom - Yak & Yeti

Hollywood Studios - not sure? redo on Sci-Fi?

Resorts - Breakfast at Kona and/or tea at Grand Floridian

DTD - Raglan Road

Tours - Keys to the Kingdom & Segway tour

-As I posted above, my friend who is staying at BLT will book the Candlight Processional for Le Cellier with the back-up plan for Teppan Edo or Chefs de France.
-For DTD's Raglan Rd, probably going to be my first night, though I'm not sure whether I really need an ADR for that.
-For the Resort - probably my last day before I head out to Tampa.
Other than that, I don't know which days I want to book the above.

I do have to keep a keen eye on the menus since I can't have red meat or cheese. *sigh*

Hmmm.....
I'm wondering whether I should book the Segway tour on Saturday morning. It's the day of the MK parade taping, so I intend to stay far far away from MK. Segway tour is only on Saturday and Tuesdays and if hours are the same as last year, Tuesday will be EMH AM for Epcot. however, my friend Mary will not be in FL yet.

I really hope the hours come out before booking day! I have 16 days to figure it all out! Oiy.

General Wish List:
Hidden Mickeys
Rope Drop Ceremonies.
Meet Scorerer Mickey. :)

Park Wish List:
(that I didn't get a chance to do before, I still want to do other things as well)

Epcot:
Perhaps get a Kidcot Passport and get it stamped in each country?
Finish up my penny collection of each country
Turtle Talk with Crush
American Experience
World Showcase players
Santas around the world
Snack around the world

Magic Kingdom:
Rose Garden
Roy & Minnie statue
Spectromagic parade
Hall of Presidents
Tom Sawyer Island
Riverboat ride
Pooh ride
Teacups
Tomorrowland Speedway
Space Mountain (errr...maybe)

Hollywood Studios:
Backlot Tour
Osbourne Lights

Animal Kingdom:
Jungle Parade

Downtown Disney:
Raglan Road
Vinylmations!
Night Balloon Ride

For the Future Wish List:
Cinderella's Royal Table
Dine with an Imagineer (looks cool!)
Whatever I don't manage to do above!
