Very Merry D23 Holidaze Dec 2009 TR - 7 magical park days! updt 7/1

Remember the video shoot I was on for the Rob Thomas?

Well, apparentely, I made the cut! :woohoo:

It goes by so fast, but I know where I was standing and I see my extremely bright coral top. :goodvibes

The song is called "Someday". Our video day was the last part of the song where you see the "parade".

Here's a link to it: http://robthomasmusic.com/videos/featured/someday-5

I know one is not supposed to talk budgets, but I'm gonna anyway. :cutie:

So far, this is how it's lookin' .....

Accomodations, $130
Airfare, $189.20
Park Tickets, $277
Rental Car, $243.71
Park Parking, $60
Photopass, $55 (half share?)

Sub-Total = $954.91

Special Events:
Candlelight Processional, $45
Segway Tour, $124
Keys to the Kingdom Tour, $55
Holiday Lights Tour, $179
Cinderella's Royal Table, $48.50

Sub-Total $451.50

Fixed Total = $1,406.41

I know I still have to add in gas, tolls, tips, food & merchandise. I'm still trying to get the car rental down and my air & accomodations cannot get any better. :thumbsup2

I bought the park tickets before the sale increase and that saved $9; not much, I know, but it's something. Unfortunately, Disney is not allowing AAA discounts on some tours unless you book the trip through AAA. I stopped by my local office and they are CLUELESS. :headache: I would never book my trip through them anyway.

However, I bought my park tickets through them, so I may call back Disney and see if that means anything.

How does it look to the Disney veterans? Decent? Horrid? :confused3

Is your Park Parking price with the AAA discount? Can you get that if you bought tickets only? Might be worth a call to your local AAA office.

No, it's normal $12 a day parking ala Disney. There's not an AAA discount on the parking price, just the pass to park closer to the gates.

My local office is useless and clueless. I was the one who told them about Characters In Flight (balloon ride in Downtown Disney) and they do not book dining or tours. NJ is the biggest market for Disney and my local office is the headquarters...now why don't they do more?

I may or may not pick up my friend and her mom at Bay Lake at some point. Then I'll get the parking price waived since they are Disney resort guests. I'll have to wing that. I do not have any breakfast ADRs at resorts on any park days, so I don't have to worry about that either. My breakfasts will be CS at the parks or a quick bite at the condo (if I do a market run).

That was a very long-winded answer to your question. LOL!!!

Long winded is good

Sorry your AAA office stinks! I have had such a great time dealing with John @ our AAA office. I told him he is getting Mickey ears with his name on it when we return! :lmao:

In the past we've had luck with the 2 AAA offices we went through, but I do like to have more control of everything too.

I have a bit of good news I would like to share. My sister has been on an adoption list for almost 2 years now. her DD that is 5 1/2 is adopted as well. On Tuesday she called and was coming home wioth a baby girl..Abby, that was born on Sat. So I am a new aunt again. And the baby is just adorable! I am so happy for her.

:cheer2: YAY for baby!!! :cheer2:

I will look for the coral shirt in the video.

Half the time when people are talking deals, and pins and codes and what not, I feel so DIsney stupid. I just go to my TA, say what I want, she does it, I pay, all done. I'm wondering if maybe I could save money doing all the booking myself.

I'm back and all caught up! You've been busy! Congrats on being an Aunt again! That's wonderful!

Glad you started a new Twitter thread. I was thinking of doing the same the other day.

Glad you joined! I didn't think I would like Twitter AT ALL. And now, here I am. :goodvibes
Loved your tweets!

Argh. But I don't really see the use in booking through them, other than the discounts on tours. :confused3
There is always a code or promotion that matches any AAA room discount.

The first time, I did the 4/3 and the May trip was just the room discount. Both thru travel agents. :confused3

Most times you won't save anymore with either. Unless there are no deals out then AAA will save a little. You are better off to do airline yourself though.

My 60 days was 3 days ago, so I know how you feel. Hehe. ;)

Your budget looks like it's shaping up pretty well! I need to sit down and put all mine out in writing, not just in my head. :rotfl: We'll be finished paying off our Disney package on October 16th. That's round-about when I planned on sitting down and drawing out our budget for things that we'll be paying for once when the date finally arrives... Rental car + deposit, ECV costs (I really wish I could walk the parks, wheels are so expensive!), meals not covered by the DDP, tips, shopping (including Pick a Pearl!), cocktails, etc etc etc. But after looking at your budget, I think I may be inspired to work on ours sooner. :goodvibes

Subscribing, by the way. :cutie:
