Very Merry D23 Holidaze Dec 2009 TR - 7 magical park days! updt 7/1

I, MyMuse, absolve MadilynnsMomma, from any and all harm on any splurges regarding the fab Magic & Merriment event.
:goodvibes:goodvibes

I'm going to use this weekend to see if I can arrange it and calm some feathers.

I'm also babysitting CJ this weekend. He's with me as of a few hours ago and up until Sunday afternoon. Wish me luck that I do all the right things! :thumbsup2

LOL - that being said, I say GO FOR IT!!!

You will do great with CJ this weekend :thumbsup2

Uh oh.....

You know what I'm thinkin'..... :scratchin :dance3:

D23's Magic & Merriment at Walt Disney World
Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13, 2009

If decked halls, dancing reindeer, sumptuous winter feasts, dazzling decorations and yuletide carols warm your heart and spark your imagination, you'll want to join us at Walt Disney World® as D23 celebrates its first holiday season with our exclusive weekend of festivities, "Magic & Merriment."
I'm thinking it sounds amazing and I'm thinking that I'm green with envy.... I'm also thinking that you will have a great time.

I'm working on losing weight before my trip. I'm pretty darn pooh-sized. :cutie: I had lost 15 pounds in the last 6 weeks, but this week... in one week, my weight shot back up TEN POUNDS. I better be retaining water, because this defies all logic and reason.:sad1:

It's all the excitement, I heard excitement weighs more then muscle. :lmao:
Not, really, I mean I can't back that up.:confused3 But Ron likes you no matter what.

If your DBF thinks your great; then you are great. :cutie:
Thank you.

I can use my cell, but I do like to shut it down at night.
Oh lord. My phone never gets turned off. I think if I tried, I'd have a panic attack. :lmao:

Magic & Merriment info coming up! :santa:
OMG, this is the weekend after I leave WDW! Bummer!!! :headache:

It's all the excitement, I heard excitement weighs more then muscle. :lmao:

Man, if excitement weighed that much, you'd have to move me around with a forklift. :rotfl2:

Sorry for the lapse! I was MIA, since I was babysitting CJ this weekend.

I didn't think to carry around my camera or I would have given you a visual commentary. I'm slackin' a bit in my picture taking.

Anyways, it was a good weekend, no major mishaps or episodes. :thumbsup2 Though, we have to work on CJ's propensity to lie to get out of doing an inkling more than he has to. He so used to no one checking up on him, he does it as second nature & doesn't even think about what he's saying. So, it might have finally sunk in that he can't do that anymore. Ahhh...sometimes, it sucks to be a kid. LOL!

My weekend started off on Thursday night and lasted until Sunday night. I tried to think up of things to engage him and keep his mind active. If not, his medication will usually have him falling asleep.

We did, in no particular order, from memory:

- Made beef soup together from a recipe I got from a co-worker. however, it turned out more like a cassarole, since I cannot seem to read correctly and made too much pasta and it sucked up the 'soup' part.
We had it for lunch that day and used the rest as part of our eggplant dinner. CJ also tried eggplant for the first time and liked it!

- Made homemade laundry detergent from a recipe I got from Simple Dollar. I have no idea if it worked, but it was fun to make. :thumbsup2

- Went out for dinner the first night to IHOP. I got myself some pumpkin pancakes. YUM!! CJ tried something new and got a Philly Cheesesteak and liked it!

- He also lived through my pumpkin hunt through the local food store the next day. I found pumpkin angel food cake and a pumpkin creme roll! Both way too big for me to buy, since no one else likes pumpkin and CJ does not like cake at all (godsend!!). :wizard:

- Completed some yardwork, in which CJ helped and did not mind at all! I didn't do any 'hardcore' (aka my blackhole of a backyard) just simple sweeping up leaves and bagging them for recycle pick-up.:)

- Visited my city's Recycling Center to drop off plastics & newspapers, phone books (who uses phonebooks nowadays?). We took a look around the lovely grounds too. :goodvibes

- Tolerated going to Rite-Aid for a prescription I needed and gave me his opinion on my search for travel alarm clocks - "Aunt Michele, it doesn't have to be pretty; it just needs to work!". Out of the mouth of babes....

- One morning, we made pancakes together. CJ had enormous fun shaking up the Bisquick and pouring his own pancakes. I also used this time to have him pour his own drink (his hand grip is very loose due to his muscular probs). He did it with flying colors. :woohoo:

- He did well on our trip to Wal-Mart to get the final items for our beef soup. Additonally, I was able to use the Snow White coupon to get the DVD for $9.96! It was originally $24.96, in-store sale for $19.96 and my $10 coupon = $9.96. CJ was so excited for me, he wanted to watch the DVD that night and started singing a song from SW in the store!! ;)

- We went to a local zoo on our final day called Turtleback Zoo. They were advertising a "puimpkin patch" theme, so I thought it would be something Halloween-y to do (since I couldn't find anything else), but it turned out to be nothing. CJ was perfectly fine visiting his animals, as he calls them. He was a bit bummed that the Black Dragon wasn't in his cage at the Reptile House. I also used this time to teach him about using the zoo map, and he quickly set about telling me where to walk. LOL! :lmao:

- For some reason, I didn't have the brain capacity to figure out how to get my DVD to play through my new-ish cable box. So, we could not watch Snow White, but he took it like a trooper and said it was ok, Men In Black double-feature was playing, so he would watch that. It was priceless! :rotfl2:

My sister called on her way home and did confirm he was 85% good all weekend. So, she decided to reward him with his very favorite thing of all - which has not had in his entire time living with my sis - dinner at Chili's!! :wizard:

It struck me that I probably talk more about me in other PTRs than my own, so I thought I would copy here....I believe this is from Elevationist's PTR...

Re: As you know, I love my Excel spreadsheet, but I have yet to make a screencap of it (I have to get to that). I will eventually make a day by day for my actual plans. But for right now, I have all things at all parks per day listed, then a box at the end of the column for my plans for that day.

So, just in case, I know what is going on EVERYWHERE. :rotfl: Yes, I'm that  .

Re: I know what you mean about names, my older sis and younger bro are named after family members and their names mean something to both my parents. Me? I'm named after a Yankee.

My dad was baseball obessed and his favorite team was the Yankees. I'm named after Mickey Mantle. I was actually supposed to be named Mickey, but my mother changed it to Michele at the hospital when doing the birth certificate. Can you imagine??? He did call me Mickey for awhile but the nickname never caught on (I'm guessing Mom had something to do with that...;) ).

And my last name begins with a "M". Of course, she could have named me Minnie instead of Michele and could have started the Disney love waaay early. :rotfl:

Re: I'm the same way with backpacks. I use messenger bags because I can see it at all times and it is easier to access what I need. I don't know if it is in my nature or from where I live, but I lock up everything! My mailbox, my car, my luggage...I need to know that my items are always safe.

I recently found a parkbag that I really like. I bought it from Sierra Trading Post online and it works really well. I'm also busty and I like bags to hit me in the right place on my hips. I have a pic and little review in my PTR. And, it was $19.15, shipping included. :thumbsup2

Re: Crocs...nah, I can't do it. I did go on a hunt earlier this year for sandals that met my every need. I found them at JCPenny's; they are called Nature Walk and they worked beautifully at WDW. :lovestruc

Ok, just after I did the last 2 long emails....

At my work, we get Daily Announcement emails, so we are all in the know about events happening on campus (I work at a University).

I click onto the email and what do I see! The Disney College Program! :worship::lmao::rotfl2::laughing:

Too super-freaky!

It sounds like you and CJ had a good weekend! You did a great job mixing fun and productive activities! :thumbsup2 He's so lucky to have all of you playing larger roles in his life now!

I laughed when I read that your dad called you Mickey. My middle name is Michele and my grandpa always called me Dawn Mickey. I needed those happy thoughts too...our 15 yr old collie passed this weekend and it's been really tough!

I think I recognize most of this from my PTR. :lmao:

Oh, no. :sad1: I know that feeling all too well right now. I've been debating mentioning this in my own PTR because I didn't wanna be a buzzkill, but we lost our 10-year-old Labrador Retriever on Thursday. And only 4 months ago, my 14-year-old cocker spaniel mix passed away as well. It's a been a rough year for my family as far as losing beloved pets to old age illnesses. I can totally sympathize with what you're going through!

Thank you! for you too! Losing two so close together must be awful!

I love hearing good things about CJ ! I am glad you two enjoyed each other - sorry about the DVD player mishap!

Eww a Yankee, really?! Ewww dad - ewww!

I can only hope he is happy & improves. So far, so good! :thumbsup2

I'm sorry about your doggie.

I'm sorry about your doggie losses.
If you feel you should mention it, I think you should. A burden shared is a burden halved.

I love hearing good things about CJ ! I am glad you two enjoyed each other - sorry about the DVD player mishap!

Eww a Yankee, really?! Ewww dad - ewww!

I still haven't figured it out. I have 4 DVDs waiting in the wings for me to watch.

Oooh, yeah. TOTALLY Yankees. Obviously, since he named his child after one. :rotfl:

LOL! If your name was Minnie you could be Minnie Muse! :rotfl:

Right! :lmao::rotfl2:

Just a quick stop-in.....

Check your car rental rates! Mine just went down $62!!! :yay::yay:

It went from $243.71 to $182.30.

It will help so much!

Great deal on the car rental! :yay: for saving money! That leaves more money for spending at WDW! :lmao:

I've been putting off ordering stuff for...well, no real good reason.

So, off I went to DisneyStore.com (disneyshopping.com?) and ordered a D23 charter year pin (they sold out of the D23 Expo pin of Sorcerer Mickey, but I didn't go anyways) and a D23 long-sleeved shirt.

There was an awesome red golf shirt, I was eyeing :magnify:, but it came in XXL. Granted, I'm not little, but geesh, at least have a XL!

I can't wait until they arrived (soon!) since it will definitely be on my packing list. I am going to shortly switch out the summer clothes for th winter clothes, so I have to kep my favs out to wear. Nothing like packing 50 days ahead!! :rotfl:

That said, D23 tickets for Magic & Merriment go on sale tomorrow. After I obtain my ticket, then I have to figure out where I stay.

After that, I need to 1) redesign my binder cover 2) replan/rework my park days since, with D23 event weekend, I can probably slow my pace a bit 3) cancel the Holiday D-Lights Tour 4) still need to calm the FL's fam's feathers

Forgot to add that I finished 2 whole hours in the gym today!!! :woohoo:

Since alot of my time has been taken with with CJ (yesterday went semi-badly :sad2:), it has seriously cut into my gym time.

So, I mad a committment to double-up and go 2 hours (or 2 classes?) when I am there. Tonight, there was no classes back to back, so I spent the first hour in the circuit (cardio & weight machines combined), next 30 minutes on the ellipitcal, rotating backwards and forward and the last 30 minutes in the sauna.

I came home exhausted but happy that I did it and then proceeded with my pumpkin muffin from Starbucks :lovestruc that I was saving.

Hopefully, I will attain 10 more pounds weightloss before I leave. I'm not holding my breath, but I'll be happy with anything. :goodvibes
