Very little to choose from...

I am trying to stay on course about choosing my June use year etc... wow... making it so hard.. then I make an offer and I am still waiting to make a deal etc.
Whew.. this whole DVC thing is wearing me out!! I had to tell my son today it would probably be next Spring Break before we would be at Disney! UGH..
Stick to your plan! June is the best and it's hard to find. The distribution charts are misleading because June is between May and July, two months that have no contracts at all. This makes these months more valuable since if you want anything in that May-July range, you have to get June. If you break the above chart into quarters, you find...

Feb-Mar-Apr: 29.4%
May-Jun-Jul: 12.5%
Aug-Sep-Oct: 25.3%
Nov-Dec-Jan: 32.8%

That ideal-for-summer-travel quarter is hard to get into, but it's worth it since you get the best of summer and fall dates, with the option to book holiday travel and still bank by Jan.

Keep in mind you're also dealing with June being just around the corner so it's a prime ROFR target right now. If you have 2017 points coming, it'll be an attractive buy-back. I would be looking for June's with some 2017 already spent so it's not as useful to Disney.

I have a good one now finally!! think just going to rofr today.... fingers crossed
Good luck! You'll love it...

OH NO!! my contract has banked points and 2017 points so I may be in bad shape for rofr...... oh well.. we shall see...

You might see an up-tick in contracts after all the school go through their April Vacations and families have used their points for those vacations and want to get out of their contract.

Good point. Already seeing the uptick in BLT and VGF contracts. ;)

Also, seeing brokers trying to price BLT contracts at VGF prices........

Don't...get...me...started on this!!! I can't imagine why they're just sitting and sitting and sitting! I know 3 people that are buying at VGF because BLT is too close to VGF right now. That's the great thing about a free market though, the price will match demand. As the price goes up, supply will increase, and the price will come back down.

There's one broker in particular that I get the impression they fabricate the existence of other offers to try and get you to raise your offer when they feel it's too low. Definitely been pressured a few times about my offer being too low according to them. I could be wrong, but I've had a few red flags raised when going after a few contracts. It would have to take a hell of a deal to bring me back to them.

Not that we are in a position to buy right now (but I can dream, right?), but I have been keeping my eyes peeled for what I would want if I could scrape together the funds...a Feb UY at HHI with 30-50 points. I hardly ever see a Feb UY and when I do, it's always like 300+ points!

DH is "Disneyed-out" but he really likes HHI. We own 100 points at AKV and 50 at HHI. I don't want to give up our AKV points since I love to go for F&W (which coincides with my DD's fall break and my birthday) and I want to be able to use the points for those trips, even if he doesn't go along. Right now, we do HHI every three years in a 1-BR for spring break, using 135 points with banking and borrowing. If I could add on 30-50 more points at HHI, we could go every other year, or even every year if we could get lucky at the 7-month mark.

Just checked my email trash, and they have 3 Feb UY contracts 150, 78, and 25 points for $55/point. Give them a call if your interested they sometimes don't make it to the website before getting bought up.

You and @Matty B13 are making me want VGF now. Made quite a compelling case for it the other day... must... stay.... strong....

Space it out more would be my advice to make sure you want to buy more before you jump in again. It's easy to get caught up with all of us crazies that love DVC, but you see how many contracts are listed for sale which means some people do regret it and sell. If my BLT makes it through ROFR, then it'll be a ridiculous amount of money to spend at one time. Also, remember all those points have those lovely MF's due every year. I think that brings me back to reality. Haha. That's why I plan on cooling to BLT if this one gets taken. It would be a totally financially motivated break from buying. :) Also, wait until you stay at VGF this summer before you decide. That's my 2 cents.

Or you could be like the guy who was taking the monorail from VGF to MK and put a low ball offer on a VGF contract and got it accepted by the time he returned to VGF........

The best thing to do is get on the email list.... I found mine from that and it didn't even make to the website.... so sign up so you can see everything come out first! Good luck!

Fantastic advice. I was being patient (no really :) ), but the email lists made it so much easier to find something that would work and acting on it fast enough. We have an offer in now!

Thanks again!

People that want to travel in May should never choose a June UY because is the last month of that UY. They should choose an April UY because then if they have to cancel a May reservation with an April UY they could still bank the points into the next UY. But if they had a June UY the banking deadline would be January 31st, so they would have to cancel very early in the year to bank their points.
