Another fan for a different reason. My substitute teaching license requires a Mantoux (tuberculosis) test. My doctor would do it but it would count as an office visit with a $50 co-pay. I called Minute Clinic and their charge was only $20 - more than 70% less! The nurse practitioner was fast, professional and was able to email the results directly to the school district.
I ended up with bronchitis a few months ago. Was feeling really really bad by about 6 in the evening, but DS had tennis practice at 7:30. Got to Minute Clinic at about 6:45, waited maybe 5 minutes, had *the* nicest NP, and was out of there, script in hand, by 7:15. All for my regular BCBS co-pay, whereas if I had gone to an urgent care facility (usually the only places open in the evening, along with the ER) I would have had to pay a huge emergency co-pay.
