Hope this calms some cruisers.
DCL uses different printing
companies for their documents sometimes (like a month or so
ago they had a problem with their printers and some guests
were getting their documents the week of sailing if not
picking them up as a pier pickup - cruise only).
Documents are usually printed for a sailing approx. 30 days
prior to departure. Alot of agents will request that the
documents be sent direct to the clients so that it does save
time and they do not need to go to the agency and then
from the agency to the client (BUT!!! Even for some reason
or another DCL sometimes fails to do so???)
Make sure to let your agent know if you are going cruise only
and you think you might be leaving early a realistic time frame
that you need your tickets and they can note your record
with DCL. If DCL does send the documents to an agency,
they should log them in and send them out. Most agencies
will do this in a short turn around.
Expect your documents approx. 2 weeks prior to sailing. For
ANY REASON (again CRUISE ONLY) there happens to be a
problem (sometimes it happens) you can ALWAYS request a
PIER PICK-UP with NO STRESS, just carry your confirmation
letter with you with your reservation number and all of your
correct VALID documentation to board AND!!!! have the
agency note the records with DCL that due to the circumstances
of not receiving your tickets prior to departure you need a
PIER PICK-UP you should be just fine......................
*****Make sure to always get the name of who you speak with
with the time and date
Hope this helps a little
Take Care and have MAGICAL DAY!!!!!
