I called my TA this moring to see if our docs had arrived for out trip on the 13th of March. I have noticed on different boards alot of people on the same trip have gotten theirs.

First of all she made me feel like I was bothering her.

Second her response was "Oh probably by the end of the week, you'll get them before you leave on the 13th."

I hate service like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in the same situation last October. My TA also made me feel like I was bothering her - she also usually waited 24 to 48 hours to reply (on weekdays) - if I emailed on a Friday, I wouldn't get any response until Tuesday or Wednesday the next week.

I finally called DCL and asked about the docs and they were able to tell me the date they were sent and the tracking number. When I tracked it and found that my TA's office had received them a few days before I went after her again. She seemed offended that I had checked on these for myself and seemed to think it was normal that they sat at her office for a few days and then were mailed to her and then she finally got around to mailing them to me.

Yes, I received them before we were to leave for our trip (but if we had planned a few days pre-cruise in Florida they wouldn't have!)

Anyway - you are not alone! Try calling DCL and finding out if the docs have been sent.

There isn't much else you can do about it at this point - but I know that I will NEVER use that TA again! :sad2:

So if I call DCL they'll be able to help?

I am the type of person that worries that the duck's don't have boots, so the closere we get to leaving the more I worry.

We are thinking about a 4 day cruise and was wondering if anyone had any great tips for a TL.

Who do you call and what do you need for them to track your docs?

Just your confirmation # from your TA?

It must just not be my day.

I just called DCL and they told me that the docs didn't go out. She never took my name, nothing. All she said was it's too early.

Problem is, I know that there are other people of the same trip who got their docs. Why would they send thiers and not mine?

:badpc:

You must have just got a bad CM - they can't check if YOUR docs have gone out without getting your name and reservation number.

I have only called DCL a couple times and have been lucky to get good CM's, but I know that when calling WDW central reservatons I have occasionally had to just give up on a bad CM and call back and talk to someone else.

All they needed from me was my reservation number (and then they asked me to confirm my name, address, etc.) and they were able to see the info on my docs.

I have heard that the docs don't all go out at once. If you did your airfare via DCL, then your docs will go out later and will include your airline tickets. Personally, I think that is another good reason to do your own air (and travel insurance) Last October, I certainly would NOT have received my docs in time if they had been sent out later.

We booked air through DCL, so I guess we'll get ours later.

This is the only stressful thing that I have come across for this trip, well other than trying to decide if it's the open toe sandles or the closed ones.

:rolleyes1

We booked our air through DCL last summer and we didn't get our docs until about 10 days before we were leaving. This time I am going to book my own air. :cool1:

Hope this calms some cruisers. DCL uses different printing
companies for their documents sometimes (like a month or so
ago they had a problem with their printers and some guests
were getting their documents the week of sailing if not
picking them up as a pier pickup - cruise only).

Documents are usually printed for a sailing approx. 30 days
prior to departure. Alot of agents will request that the
documents be sent direct to the clients so that it does save
time and they do not need to go to the agency and then
from the agency to the client (BUT!!! Even for some reason
or another DCL sometimes fails to do so???)

Make sure to let your agent know if you are going cruise only
and you think you might be leaving early a realistic time frame
that you need your tickets and they can note your record
with DCL. If DCL does send the documents to an agency,
they should log them in and send them out. Most agencies
will do this in a short turn around.

Expect your documents approx. 2 weeks prior to sailing. For
ANY REASON (again CRUISE ONLY) there happens to be a
problem (sometimes it happens) you can ALWAYS request a
PIER PICK-UP with NO STRESS, just carry your confirmation
letter with you with your reservation number and all of your
correct VALID documentation to board AND!!!! have the
agency note the records with DCL that due to the circumstances
of not receiving your tickets prior to departure you need a
PIER PICK-UP you should be just fine......................
*****Make sure to always get the name of who you speak with
with the time and date :)

Hope this helps a little :)

Take Care and have MAGICAL DAY!!!!!

Susan,

Dana is still out and recovering, she asked us to please
post and say THANK YOU to everyone who has been
soooooooo nice and emailed and sent her their best wishes.

She should hopefully be coming back slowly very soon, but
all the well wishes really brightened her spirits and we are
sure is what is making her get better faster :)

She has one more procedure hopefully to go and then she
will be able to concentrate and make a full recovery so
we can all have her back :)

She misses everyone so much and with her drive, it is hard
for her to be out of the middle of things :)

So THANK YOU once again, it is greatly APPRECIATED!!!

MA - (for Dana)

I haven't received our docs yet either Angel - TA totally not worried about it - I figure, it's out of my hands, why worry.
Ya know, I haven't received park tickets for US or WDW, no airline confirmation, don't know room numbers for the resort, etc. TA says, well call Disney blah blah blah. Disney says ' OH, you booked thru a TA, we can't help you....' If I wasn't responsible for the reservations, I don't have a CLUE. That'll teach me, huh? Next time, I'm doing it myself.

The worst part is not knowing, don't you agree? Thank goodness for the DIS - it's nice to know I'm not the only one experiencing these issues.

That's exactly how I feel. I just like to know how things are going.

Thanks for making me feel a little better that you don't have yours either. Hopefully soon.

:flower:

Hi there! I'm from Ontario too and I don't have my docs either. Booked air myself (not through DCL). I was informed that they do not mail the docs until 14 days before cruise departure and since I booked my own resort stay before the cruise there is a good chance my docs won't get here before I go. It's in the hands of DCL and the postal service. Let's hope we don't get any more snow storms.

While your T.A. should treat you respectfully (that's what she is getting paid for!), the expectation should be that docs arrive one to two weeks before departure. That is normal. I remember that a lot of cruisers on cruises after ours had their docs, and I was concerned, called, and the documents had just been sent! Its hard to wait, but you don't get on the ship any faster with documents that arrive a month early as opposed to eight days. It would almost be worth it for TAs to send out a note regarding docs a month before to say "we don't have them yet, we expect you to have them by XXX, if you don't have them by then, give us a call" as I'm sure they get this call from the majority of cruisers that don't get their docs three weeks ahead.

The docs themselves are not too much - a few brochures, some paperwork to fill out. Everything that needs to be filled out can be done in 20 minutes. You'll know most of the information that is in the brochures from this board.

Waltoncru, I may be mistaken, but I don't think you'll get room numbers for the resort until you check in. When we did packages, we always got our tickets and room numbers at check in. We have never done a land sea, but our land packages were always just plane tickets and iteneraries - and now we aren't even getting the plane tickets - just etickets.

It sounds like your TA is pulling a bait and switch. First she baids you with good service and then when you pay she switches to the I don't have time for you TA. I would be sure to tell her supervisor about her treatment. I know that we can all get a little worked up when it comes to the details of our vacations. But honestly we save for the vacations by working hard and these are not cheap vacations. I am so lucky that I have a great TA. Good luck and I hope you get you doc's soon. And have a Fantastic cruise! :wave2:

FYI, my docs arrived yesterday for 3/19 cruise. I booked through DVC and did my own airfare. Hope yours come soon!

Here's throwing a white light around ya mom_rules, and angel!! :goodvibes :goodvibes
We'll getum, I just know it!!
:cool1: :cool1:

PS(OMG, were almost to 2 weeks!!!) :teeth:
I am SOOO ready for some SUNSHINE!!! Painting toenails in anticipation!!
