I'm finally able to get back into my scrapping and I'm very excited about it.. I have a few questions that I'm hoping someone can answer for me..

Which on-line source is the least expensive for scrapbook supplies? Doesn't have to be Disney, as I'm doing several different themed scrapbooks.. (For health reasons I need to shop on-line..)

Which on-line source is having the best clearance sales right now? (Again - does not have to be Disney..)

Where can I find "ocean" scrapbook supplies (paper; stickers; maybe an album; etc.) that is geared more towards the northeast and not the south (which normally includes palm trees; flamingos; etc.)?

When using 12x12 scrapbooks, which ones do you find lay flat the best?

Also, I have a 12x12 scrapbook (post) I completed a few years ago that I needed to use post extensions for (in order to accomodate all of the pages) and it seems to be very "loose" and "wobbly".. Did I do something wrong? Maybe not enough spacers? How often (between how many pages) should you use spacers?

Thanks for any and all info!! :goodvibes

I love your excitement. It is truly contagious! I too, am recently all fired up and back into my scrapping and I could not be happier :cloud9: I hope you can keep the momentum going. As far as online shopping, try oriental trading, Paper wishes, and I also like Oh my crafts. I don't know much about ocean stuff, maybe try scrap my trips for that. I use top laoding 12X 12 albums and try to keep the pages to a minimum (less than 36) and use spaces depending on how think the pages are. I also try to use embellishments that are not that thick. I hope that helps. Other than that there are extenders available , but I can't seem to recall their name at the moment. :scratchin Maybe someone else here knows.

Anyway, make sure to post pics of your projects. We like seeing them. And have fun!!!:mickeyjum

For online scrapbook shopping I use acherryontop they run sales quite regularly, their shipping is pretty fast and they have a very wide selection....something for everybody. And they always have a clearance section...I don't know about it being the best, but I usually find a few things in there. hth and good luck with your scrapping! :goodvibes

In order for the book to be tight and 'flat', you need to use sufficient spacers to equal the thickness of the pages. The spacers really need to 'fill' the post, so you only want to use the length extender needed and no extra - it should be difficult to get that back cover on.

I use scrap card board and also the dense artfoam for spacers. The art foam is easier to cut and punch - and it's thicker, so you can almost 'overload' the spine and compress it sufficiently to get the screws in and the book will be nice and tight, with no wobbling.

I like scrapbookpal.com for embellishments like stickles, flock, brads, and inks,

Rebecca

Thanks for all of the info and instructions.. :goodvibes

I've been busy most of the day printing out photos.. Tomorrow I have to scan some things as I am making two of the same scrapbook, one for myself and one for my cousin, of a trip we took together the summer before last..

Checked my supplies downstairs and found that I have 6 empty 12x12 scrapbooks - with lots and lots of refill pages..:thumbsup2 I forgot that I received them in a ton of scrapbooking supplies that I purchased from a pen pal a couple of years ago who decided she didn't want to scrap anymore.. Boxes and boxes and boxes of supplies; scrapbooks; refills; tools; stickers; punch-outs; etc.. Guess I better go through all of that stuff and get it organized before I going buying more stuff.. LOL :rotfl:

Of course you can never have "too much" - right? ;)

Thanks for posting your questions C. Ann! I often get asked about the "laying flat" issue and have no answer. Thanks LindaBabe!

Thanks, but I'm not currently working on my Disney scrapbooks.. Right now I'm working on a vacation that I took with my cousin in 2006 to Salem, MA; Hampton Beach, NH; and Boothbay Harbor, ME..

Thus the need for "ocean" type papers; lighthouse stickers; and "witchy" things.. :)
