We are getting a two bedroom at Vero...does anyone have advice on what location to request? We'd love some type of beach view but I understand that may not be possible because of resort is laid out.

Please give any advice on where you'd put your room request...thanks!

There is a possibility of getting a garden or parking lot view as well as a beach view. I have been on the "beach" side, but I was on a lower floor, so the view was greenery. A high floor request on the beach side would be what I would request for a 2 BR. Of course, the best views are the ocean view inn rooms, and the Beach Cottages. Those views are magnificent - I just came home from one there yesterday! Thinking of going back this summer and trying an inn room (not enough points left for a Beach Cottage again in the same year!)

Candace -- Which beach cottage did you end up getting? Must have been a great trip? Details?

Pentex -- Your best shot is to put down OCEAN VIEW as a request. Candace is also right that you need to be higher up in order to see over the dune.

We are headed to VB in April in a one-bedroom but we were there this past June in a studio and I did a little walk-by of each building to see what room numbers I would request next time. So, as long as you are not going from April 14-20, (because I'm requesting these rooms) you can request these wonderful rooms: 1359, 1459 and 1559; all top floor room with views. Have fun, I know we will!!

Pam - We were in Cottage 1550 which is the next to last one on the south end of the resort. It was my first time to stay there in a beach cottage. They are truly stunning! Having the kitchen/living/dining areas upstairs is a wonderful idea! The weather was perfect for staying out on the deck. The ocean looked as blue as the sky, and every night was an amazing show of stars. The resort was full for the weekend. We had no children with us, but my sister in law and I attended the campfire on Friday night. It was really well done and the CM's did a great job. There were lots of activities for kids at the pool all weekend including a DJ and a lady doing sandcasting. The Green Cabin Room was lots of fun; they have live music nightly there, and we heard two different performers while there. The young man with a keyboard and percussion machine played our last night there. His name is Chris Valenti, and he is there on Sunday nights. He has been playing there for about 4 months, he said. He was really good. Played a wide variety of music and his voice was great. Everyone was up and moving! The food at Shutters was very good our first night there. We attended the Sunday brunch at Sonja's and it was also good. We at in Vero at Patio's on Friday night. We were there around 6:30 or 7:00 and they still had "early bird" specials. What a good deal! Soup, salad, wine, entree and dessert were all included for very reasonable prices and a large selection of entrees were available. I highly recommend Patio's. We visited the Hale Groves store and purchased fresh squeezed orange juice that was fantastic. The weather was in the low 80's during the day and around 70 at night. It was just a fantastic trip. I hope I get back there soon!

To answer the original question. I would request a "lock-off". There are 18 dedicated 2BR units at VB. These dedicated units are at the parking-lot side of the resort. There are 36 "lock-off" units at the resort and they are ocean side.

We rented a 2BR in October at the 7 month window and had a top floor unit. From one bedroom it had a parking lot view, but from the master bedroom and kitchen you could still see the ocean. It was still a wonderful time as this resort is TOPS.

Enjoy.
