Vero Beach Update

That terrific source of information, Peggy Fisher, has returned to home in Vero and has posted her first report since Hurricane Frances.

Most astonishing -- the new construction of the Disney stairs did hold up! The old stairs washed away in just a regular heavy surf.

Here's her whole report including a photo of the lifeguard station for the next door public beach.

Thanks for posting this link, Pam. I've been wondering what damage was done at Vero. I'm glad that Ivan decided to go elsewhere, although I certainly wish Ivan would miraculously disappear instead.

A contract security service. We used to have them providing campus security at the university where I work. The students call them "rent-a-cops".
