Vero Beach Transporation?

We are thinking about trying Vero Beach for a few days. Do people normally fly into Orlando airport and then drive themselves to Vero Beach or does DVC offer bus transportation? Is there an airport closer that I should use?

Disney does not offer transportation to/from Vero Beach.

We're in Vero Beach now -- and the nearest airport is still Orlando. They estimate 2 hours and that seems about what it took us to drive down here.

We've been having a great time --

If Delta works for you and you don't mind going through Atlanta, you can fly into Melbourne (MLB) which is about 30 miles north of Vero. We just did that and it worked well. Well, except for the part where we sat on the runway 45 minutes after we landed in ATL waiting for a gate. Fortunately we had 2 hours between flights so we had no problem.

We used to live in Atlanta....seldom do flights get out of there on time. We flew to Melbourne last year and with the down time at the ATL airport, we could have flown direct to Orlando and drive all the way to Vero in the same amount of time. I felt Melbourne would be better but my DH and I both decided next time we'll just fly to Orlando and drive over since we can get a direct flight from here to Orlando.
