We always bring our own beach and pool toys.. We don't really worry about the chairs at all, and just use a beach blanket...
For food, we usually wait until we arrive at VB... We drive straight to the resort, unload our luggage, and check into the room...
If our room is available, then my DW will go up to the room with the kids and unpack, while I go grocery shopping with the list...
If the room isn't available, we leave the resort, with a now empty car and head off to Super
Walmart or Publix.. (Depending on the time of day, we may hit Hale's for some oranges, grapefruit, and OJ..)
Once we get back to the resort, groceries in hand, we will either 1) take them up to the room if it was ready, or 2) check them will bell services, and then go swimming...
Occaisionally, we will travel with a cardboard box full of perishables when we go to most
DVC resorts, but since VB is not really in a touristry area like Orlando, grocery prices are fairly reasonable.
