Hello. We are going to Vero Beach for 4 nights during the Thanksgiving week this year and would like input from anyone as to their thoughts on this location. We don't know much about this location and the things to do...We are 2 adults with a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old. We are wondering about the following:
How busy is it there this time of year?
Does the hotel/beach/pool seem crowded?
Has anyone been at this time and gone in the ocean water--cold/nice??
How are the Disney restaurants--good food/do they have character interactions??
We are also headed over to AKL for the night of Thanksgiving (then on to OKWR). We have booked a savannah view room--should we make any special room requests for location??
Any info would be a great help--thanks!!

We have been to VB during easter break since the VB opened. We are members, all the restraunts have great menus and there is character breakfast with max and goofy that was great. The pool was never crowded when we were there. The ocean was also warm when we swam there. My kids are 11 and 13 now but they were young when we started going to VB and they still enjoy going there. JP:p  :jester:

hi we stayed at the AKL in may one night before we went to BWV, DD is a cast member and got half price on room. heard many people complain "for the money they spent thier were not happy with view". the hotel is beautiful but would not stay there again even with half price. try to switch to standard view. if you want to see the animals, you can walk around to different spots.
just MHO.

We were at VB last year just after Thanksgiving (11/29 - 12/1). The weather was just perfect (highs in the 80's, lows in the 60's), but we were lucky. Hope you are, too.

Our party included our 5 year old and 16 month old nephews. VB has a great water play area for kids 5 and under - a pirate ship with a kiddie sized slide and squirting fountains. It is entirely zero depth. There is also a small kiddie sand-bottomed playground with a slide, climbing area, etc. Your 1 year old is obviously too young for the kids activities but your 3 year old might enjoy the "unbirthday party" and the mini-golf.

Both should enjoy the sand beach and wading with you at the edge of the ocean. Even if the resort is full, I doubt you will feel crowded. (We were also there over this past President's Day weekend when the resort was at capacity. It never felt crowded to us at all). VB is a beautiful resort. I'm sure you will enjoy your time there!

disfan1294,

We just returned from VB on July 5th. The resort was filled to capacity. We couldn't even "view" an inn room or studio the 4 days we were there (we were in a 1BR). The point I am trying to make is, even though the resort was filled to the max, it never seemed crowded at all. We never had a problem at the pool getting 3-4 chairs together, no matter what time we went to the pool. Also the beach was never very crowded. We never had to wait at the on site restraunts (Shutters,Sonyas). The food at Shutters was reasonably priced, they have a childrens menu also.
For an adult, the hamburger-fries were $6.99, and it was very good:D . The pool also never got really crowded. You will have a great time at VB!!!!!!!;)
