Thanks so much for the responses on area restaurants. I will let you know where we end up going. Maybe do a mini-food porn report.

Hi Guys, just booked a 1BR villa for August 3-9 using my HHI points. I am looking for the rack rate for the room, but cannot find it? (I like to see how much I am really saving.) Can't find it on https://verobeach.disney.go.com/ because there is no availability.
We are considering a visit to Vero Beach with our 1 year old for a few nights at the end of April. We have been to WDW many times, but never to a beach in Florida. Trying to decide which beach to choose and how many days to allocate to DisneyWorld vs. the beach portion of our stay. Would appreciate any feedback from those in the know here who can help us figure out if Vero is a good match for us:
1)We would be in a Deluxe Studio. Will there be enough room for the stroller, pack n play, and luggage for us to move around comfortably?
2)I was initially considering a beach on the Gulf as I understand the Atlantic side can be rougher for waves? Is that the case? We'd like our little guy (who will be 15 months) to be able to at least walk in the ocean's edge with us--the trip will be all about creating memories with him, so a gentle beach is important.
3)I've read several reviews online indicating the rooms and mattresses are worn, and then other reviews that don't say this at all. We are there for the beach, not the rooms, but it is our big vacation for the year, so we don't want the rooms to be a poor value either. And the comfort of the beds is very important to us.
4)Lastly, for those of you who have split your time between Vero and WDW, what did you find to be a good mix of time between the two. We will have 5-6 days for both. We have debated spending the whole week at a WDW resort and choosing a closer beach for a day trip or two as well. I'm just thinking with a little one, it may be best to stay at the beach so we can come and go for naps and not have to drag an umbrella for shade.
Would appreciate any feedback. It's very cold here in the Midwest and I'm counting down the days to Florida sun!

Add us to the list. It will be are first time. Going Aug 23-28th. Also does anyone have pictures of the inside of the Deluxe Inn Room Ocean View?
Hi will be at Vero Beach July 17th - 24th!
Yes RSHEALAND I would love the info! Thank you!!!
We will be doing the same in a few months. Starting at Vero for 5 nights and then doing 4 on DCL. Can you give me an idea of the drive from Vero to Miami? How long did it take you? Did you park at the port?
Jsantini....IMHO
I am at Vero now and have been for the last 2 weeks. This is my 1st time here & last.
I live by the Atlantic Ocean in NJ and know how dangerous the waters can be.
That said, I sadly see no difference in the water color or wave action here and the drop off's to deeper water come up quickly. Only the palm trees show me I'm in Fla.
When I have stayed in the Ft. Lauderdale area or further south on many occasions.....the water is gorgeous with many combinations of blue color....and the waves very calm and you can walk a fairly long distance into the surf..safely.
This is "not" the place to have kids on the beach besides there's no lifeguards. If you want to only get your toes wet & make sand castles...then OK.
If I were splitting a stay...taking kids....I would definitely do the "west coast". There's sooo much more to do and the Gulf is beautiful, wonderful & calm.
