anyone ever stay at Vero before the Cruise? Thinking about going down a few days in advance. In the past we have stayed at WDW before but thinking of spending a few days at Vero and then drive up to the port and return the rental car.

Any advice...

Yes. Do it!
I've done this 5 or 6 times. It's a great relaxing kick-off for a cruise.

My only other advise is to get a room size at VB roughly equal to what cat you'll have on board. Once we stayed in a Beach Cottage for 5 nights, then had a cat 3 on board -- the much "smaller" stateroom while nice, seemed confining in comparison.

Vero and a cruise; what a fabulous idea!!!! I wish I would of thought of that. We are thinking of taking a cruise over spppring break next year and thought of stopping 1 night before and after our cruise at WDW, but Vero sounds even better.

I don't know what cruise we will take but I should start planning because I don't know about availability at Vero around Easter.

While the quality of the Resort is typical Disney, there really is nothing much going on around Vero. We have stayed there a number to times but don't look for much to do. Seem really out of place to me - like they dropped a top rated resort in the wrong place. On the other hand the points needed reflect this so it is still a good value.
