Hello,
Wondering if anyone on here can comment on their recent experience using Verizon Wireless while on St. Thomas and Tortola. I know you cant use on days at sea or CC but would like to have access to data so I can use Google Maps if necessary. Did you use the $10 per day plan that Verizon offers? Thanks in advance for your replies.

St. Thomas is part of the US Virgin Islands, so the voice/data service was included as part of my VZW plan. I wasn't a heavy user, it worked but I couldn't tell you how well.
I didn't try using it at Tortola (British Virgin Islands).

Just a note that Castaway Cay is included in the $10 a day travel pass from Verizon. There is a bahama cell phone tower on the island.

I did use it on both as well as on Castaway Cay. I used Verizon’s Travelpass for $10/day. Didn’t get charged while on St. Thomas because it’s part of the US. Service was good. DH was downloading movies though and after he used up a certain GB, it kindda slows down a little. We have unlimited plan for call, text and data and that’s what gets used up for Travelpass.

Be aware that on St. Thomas and St. John whether or not you invoke the $10/day depends on what tower your signal bounces from. Data is a bit inconsistent as well.
