Verizon cell phones- price match?

I'm curious if anyone has ever gotten Verizon to reduce their cell phone bills to compete with another carrier. We've had Verizon for 10 years and they've been great and I know they work where we travel, but were looking into getting smart phones and Sprint is a lot cheaper. I was wondering if there was any chance of them matching Sprint to keep our business. Figured it can't hurt to ask, we do it all the time with Comcast! Think it would be better to ask at a store or call the help desk?
