Vera Bradley lovers... help would be appreciated!

Where is this set on sale?

I've seen at almost all of the stores that sell Vera Bradley, except Crabtree & Evelyn. It is the large duffel and hanging organizer for $98. It is packaged together in a mesh bag and decorated with a daisy. It is supposed to be a deal for graduation.

wow...I wish I had known about this thread when it started!!! FUN!!!

Vera Bradley is addictive and I honestly don't know why!! I'm a dedicated Coach bag carrier. My step daughter told me she wanted a vera bradley bag and I about died laughing. All I'd ever seen of Vera Bradley was in Crabtree and Evelyn stores...and I had a music teacher who carried one. They seemed like the LAST "brand" a middle schooler would ask for!

shows how much I know! VB is everywhere in all the schools around here. So I bought one for my step daughter for her birthday...(a Frannie in Baroque) and an all in one wristlet (Carnaby!). Now I'm addicted. They are great travel bags and the prints are so fun and modern. I love that it was a company started by women.

I still carry my beloved Coach bags as purses...(I work in courts a lot and VB just wouldn't work in that kind of setting!). But once we are headed to a plane and I'm Vera Bradley all the way!!!
:goodvibes

I'm a self-proclaimed Vera Bradley addict. Lately I'm carrying my Pleated Tote (in Calypso) and today I'm headed to NYC for a few days (staying at my dorm on Long Island, though) and inside my pleated tote I have some clothes (yoga pants, tank top), my laptop (well, I'm typing on the laptop right now),digital camera, various chargers, a DVD for a friend, 3 Vera small cosmetic bags (yes, 3, one for my contact lens supplies, one for various stuff so nothing is floating around and one for my make-up - all different patterns - Calypso, Raspberry Fizz and Java Blue), a tech case (Mod Floral Pink - for my iPod), my clip zip ID (Calypso - but I have about 6 or 8 ID cases total...:rolleyes1), mirror (in Twirly Birds Navy) and my glasses case (in Imperial Toile)... my bag looks like it puked Vera (and there's STILL room in it).

And I have SEVERAL other bags (Villager, Betsy, Tote and Bucket Tote - the Tote is in the trunk of my car holding various supplies for the road...) and a travel organizer and also the Large Duffel and the Messenger (they match... :rolleyes1) and several small accessories as well (sunglasses case, pocket wallet, wristlet, all-in-one wristlet) but we have an outlet fairly close to home (40 minutes) so now I refuse to pay retail price for anything.

I'm with you! Coach purses/wallet, but VB for all of my travel stuff. I love the duffels, cosmetic bags, zip id's, and hipster (only for Disney). The weekender is the absolute best carry-on bag! I just got a new one in Very Berry Paisley and love it for all of the inner/outer pockets. Very easy to organize plane tickets/id, etc. when flying.

Another VB lover here too! I got into the VB craze when I was in grad school, about 5 years ago when I started. I graduated 3 years ago and I still love my Vera!

I have lots of totes - Tic Tac Tote and Vera styles in different patterns, large duffle, 2 hipsters, varying sizes of cosmetic bags, pencil/brush case, coin purse, Saddle Bag, large and small backpack. Hmmm, I think that covers it.

I'm in the process of losing weight and my first reward for losing my 10% is to buy a new Vera bag in one of the new spring colors. I'm thinking of the Large Hobo in Folkloric - anyone have that bag and can give their thoughts? But I also saw the new Eloise style this weekend which I also really like.

I have a large hobo and it's a really nice bag. I actually used it as a school bag...it's nice because I was able to fit folders, my lunch bag (VB of course!) and other stuff in it. It hold a lot more that you'd think.

Oh, and I just got the saddle up in Folkloric yesterday...love it!!! But all the spring colors are so pretty. I might use it on our trip to Disney World.

They are having a nice sale on line til today (MLK)! Check it out. Some of the popular styles are $39 :wizard:

WooHOO!!! Revived the Vera thread!!! Perfect timing for a Monday off!!!:cool1:

I was going through all my Vera stuff last night and it was in a nice little pile on my bedroom floor. My husband walked in, looked at the pile and said "I don't want to know..." and walked out!:rotfl:

I'm always on the hunt for really good sale prices. Some of those bags are just ridiculously expensive. The small back pack for instance...that thing is $88! That's a lot more than bags that are MUCH bigger. I don't get it. Which is why I was very pleased with myself when I got a small backpack (Night Owl) for $21!!!!:cool1: I found a large backpack for $25 (Totally Turq). The Metropolitan just went on sale for $58...as did the laptop backpack. My first bag was the large duffel in Capri blue. I have the small duffel in Calypso...the small laptop case also in Calypso. A bunch of little accessories (which I think are my favorite Vera items!) I travel a lot and I've found Vera bags to be durable and just plain useful!!! I just found a Get Carried Away tote in Java blue for $35! Just in time for an upcoming trip! My sister gave me an address book in Very Berry Paisley and a "While We're Away" pad in the same color. The stationary stuff is really cute. I have a pocket papers pad that I keep in my Coach bag! (cupcakes pink!) I'm obsessed. :thumbsup2

The new prints are ADORABLE!!! I immediately thought of Disney when I saw the Rachel and the Lizzy. Folkloric is a great print! I really love Blue Lagoon too. I'm thinking my small back pack might be a good bag to carry in the parks. I've carried a baggallini for the last few years but last year that thing just killed my shoulders and made marks and it was NOT comfy...or quilted and covered with cute prints!:lmao: As the kids have gotten older they need less in the parks and my bags don't have to be so huge and heavy. My shoulders are THRILLED!

Seriously...best thread on the Dis!!!:thumbsup2;)

I am late to the party but I love these bags. I love the weight, the material, the pockets, the adjustable/comfortable straps that don't fall off of my shoulder, and the patterns, while kind of crazy, are always fun. My favorite bag is my Cargo Sling, which they've discontinued!:sad2: I'm trying to talk myself into the On The Go style, because it is similar, but I don't like it as well. The Cargo Sling is such a great park bag. I guess Vera Bradley never brings back old styles, huh? I'm thinking of buying a large Hipster, but I think it might be too small for me.

I've been eying the cargo sling on ebay...It looks like a great park bag! I need something to switch off with my baggallini. last year I ended up with really uncomfortable abrasions on my shoulder and collar bone b/c I carried my baggallini all day every day. I'm not going to have a repeat of that this year so I need a good bag for switch off days that can carry a fair bit without being horribly bulky.

I must say...I love bag hunting. It's part of the "ritual" of preparing for a Disney trip. I usually end up going back to my baggallini...but like i said, the straps can be unkind!

OH...and just b/c this is a vera lovers thread...I was at a Vera store near my house this weekend and what did I see but patterns I had not seen EVER. I turned to the sales person and said "What is this?! What are these patterns?! These aren't on verabradley.com...they aren't the new spring colors...what are these?! TELL ME IMMEDIATELY!!!"...:rotfl2: I did say that...but I was well aware that I sounded like a nutball. :confused3 ;)

This particular store is a designated PREVIEW store!!! They had four patterns from the FALL 2011 line out on preview!! :cool1:

They are called:
Mocha Rouge-a really pretty pink, brown and white color with flowery patterns. (I left the store with a small make up bag in this color!!)

Happy Snail-a navy based floral print with coral, yellow, white-ish palette with little snails throughout. (very cute!)

Plum...something. I can't remember the name...but it's a really pretty lavender and darker purple colors with a floral print

Safari Sunset...or Sunrise...one of those. A rusty colored print with with oranges and browns in a paisley pattern.

LOVED!!!

There was a little crowd of husbands near the entrance of the store. They looked like they wanted to get out of there but knew there was really no hope of that. So they talked about March Madness while they waited! Good times!!!

I didn't have any trouble with the cargo sling strap cutting into my neck. I think you definitely need one! :) The bag hunting is a ritual for me too, a ritual that my husband does not need to know about! I found a bunch of Baggalinis at a TJ Maxx recently, and I know so many people on Dis love them, so I spent some time trying them on, but they just didn't fit me right.

How cool your store had the new fall 2011 stuff! Thanks for the descriptions. I was curious and googled it, since you mentioned it, and found this, for anyone who hasn't seen it:

Those pictures are from this blog, which I've never read but just found while looking for pictures of the new patterns: http://www.ohmyvera.com/

Those were cosmetic bags, fronts and backs, I think. I hope it was okay to post them here. Fun new patterns, I agree!

I love the Oh My Vera blog, she's a great resource for the new colors.

How awesome that you've got a preview store nearby. I've got an All in One Wristlet in the English Meadow (summer 2011) that a friend got me from a preview store. I love it.

I love the Fall colors, especially Mocha Rouge! It's a relief, though, since I HATE all of the summer colors. Looks like I'll just have to wait a little while longer to get my hands on some Mocha Rogue, though!
CampbellScot, where did you get a GCA for so cheap?? Ebay??

THANK YOU!!! I took some "undercover" pics at the store...:cool2:...but they weren't close up b/c the people at the store didn't want pictures being taken. I know this b/c somebody else tried and a security guard tackled her to the ground...

not really

but I was afraid that COULD happen.

:)

Gotta love Vera Nuts!!

aren't those patterns SO cute?!

I'm really bad at letters standing for words...it took me about ten minutes to figure out what GCA meant!:lmao: I got the Get Carried Away tote from verabradley.com actually. It was a one day sale, Java blue was a print that was on sale, and then that one day sale on top of it. I didn't quite believe the price and I had no choice! I had to buy it!! It was the same sort of deal for the small and large backpack. That particular color was 25% off on top of being on sale. So I jumped! Being on the east coast gives me a head start over the rest of the country!!!:cool1: I also got awesome deals on the Laptop backpack (totally Turq) and the Metropolitan (Blue Rhapsody). The only Vera item I think I've ever paid full price for is the most recent Mocha Rouge small make up case. I think VB bags are just a bit overpriced for cloth bags, but the sales are often really good! My husband laughs at my thinking that VB is overpriced b/c I'm also a dedicated Coach bag carrier and I don't tend to look at the price if something has grabbed my attention...which is why I get bags that aren't trendy and that I can carry for a LONG time. Makes sense right?!

it's my bag buying logic!! Plus I travel A LOT. So I need a lap top backpack...and/or a computer messenger bag...or a GCA tote...or a weekender.

right?

*ahem*
;)

I am also not a HUGE fan of the newest Spring colors. The Boysenberry is my favorite of the four. I do LOVE the Mocha Rouge color...so I'm going to have to figure out WHY I need another weekender in THAT color. Or i'm going to have to start hiding stuff...

do what we gotta do right?!:thumbsup2

LOL! I look at the Vera Bradley boards on Facebook and they have codes for everything! A post will say like "FSOT BR ZAW" and it'll take me five minutes to decipher it!
Wow-- I'm not a Java Blue fan but that is an AMAZING deal for a Get Carried Away!
Haha-- I'm the same as you! I tend to think Vera Bradley can be over-priced, but I have to have my leather Coach bags! I can justify the price on those because they're classic and leather. I do tend to get tired of Vera patterns in a way that I NEVER tire of my Coach bags.
I'm definitely going to stock up on Mocha Rouge-- probably a coin purse to hold my camera and a travel cosmetic.

I'm not a huge fan of Java Blue either. I really wanted that particular bag though! Had it been a color I really disliked, I'd have passed it up. There are some patterns that flat give me a head-ache!

I love love love my Coach legacy saddle bag. I'll carry it forever. My husband proposed to me with a Coach bag! My ring was in a wrislet! He kept asking me what was "inside it" and I kept saying it was just the care instructions. He kept asking me and I finally opened it to show him it was just the instructions...oh and an engagement ring...:scared1::love:
