Where is this set on sale?
Where is this set on sale?
What stores actually sell iot or can I find it online? I googled it but did not really find to much
Never mind.... I got an email this morning
wow...I wish I had known about this thread when it started!!! FUN!!!
Vera Bradley is addictive and I honestly don't know why!! I'm a dedicated Coach bag carrier. My step daughter told me she wanted a vera bradley bag and I about died laughing. All I'd ever seen of Vera Bradley was in Crabtree and Evelyn stores...and I had a music teacher who carried one. They seemed like the LAST "brand" a middle schooler would ask for!
shows how much I know! VB is everywhere in all the schools around here. So I bought one for my step daughter for her birthday...(a Frannie in Baroque) and an all in one wristlet (Carnaby!). Now I'm addicted. They are great travel bags and the prints are so fun and modern. I love that it was a company started by women.
I still carry my beloved Coach bags as purses...(I work in courts a lot and VB just wouldn't work in that kind of setting!). But once we are headed to a plane and I'm Vera Bradley all the way!!!

Another VB lover here too! I got into the VB craze when I was in grad school, about 5 years ago when I started. I graduated 3 years ago and I still love my Vera!
I have lots of totes - Tic Tac Tote and Vera styles in different patterns, large duffle, 2 hipsters, varying sizes of cosmetic bags, pencil/brush case, coin purse, Saddle Bag, large and small backpack. Hmmm, I think that covers it.
I'm in the process of losing weight and my first reward for losing my 10% is to buy a new Vera bag in one of the new spring colors. I'm thinking of the Large Hobo in Folkloric - anyone have that bag and can give their thoughts? But I also saw the new Eloise style this weekend which I also really like.
I am late to the party but I love these bags. I love the weight, the material, the pockets, the adjustable/comfortable straps that don't fall off of my shoulder, and the patterns, while kind of crazy, are always fun. My favorite bag is my Cargo Sling, which they've discontinued!I'm trying to talk myself into the On The Go style, because it is similar, but I don't like it as well. The Cargo Sling is such a great park bag. I guess Vera Bradley never brings back old styles, huh? I'm thinking of buying a large Hipster, but I think it might be too small for me.
I've been eying the cargo sling on ebay...It looks like a great park bag! I need something to switch off with my baggallini. last year I ended up with really uncomfortable abrasions on my shoulder and collar bone b/c I carried my baggallini all day every day. I'm not going to have a repeat of that this year so I need a good bag for switch off days that can carry a fair bit without being horribly bulky.
I must say...I love bag hunting. It's part of the "ritual" of preparing for a Disney trip. I usually end up going back to my baggallini...but like i said, the straps can be unkind!
OH...and just b/c this is a vera lovers thread...I was at a Vera store near my house this weekend and what did I see but patterns I had not seen EVER. I turned to the sales person and said "What is this?! What are these patterns?! These aren't on verabradley.com...they aren't the new spring colors...what are these?! TELL ME IMMEDIATELY!!!"...I did say that...but I was well aware that I sounded like a nutball.

This particular store is a designated PREVIEW store!!! They had four patterns from the FALL 2011 line out on preview!!![]()
They are called:
Mocha Rouge-a really pretty pink, brown and white color with flowery patterns. (I left the store with a small make up bag in this color!!)
Happy Snail-a navy based floral print with coral, yellow, white-ish palette with little snails throughout. (very cute!)
Plum...something. I can't remember the name...but it's a really pretty lavender and darker purple colors with a floral print
Safari Sunset...or Sunrise...one of those. A rusty colored print with with oranges and browns in a paisley pattern.
LOVED!!!
There was a little crowd of husbands near the entrance of the store. They looked like they wanted to get out of there but knew there was really no hope of that. So they talked about March Madness while they waited! Good times!!!
I didn't have any trouble with the cargo sling strap cutting into my neck. I think you definitely need one!The bag hunting is a ritual for me too, a ritual that my husband does not need to know about! I found a bunch of Baggalinis at a TJ Maxx recently, and I know so many people on Dis love them, so I spent some time trying them on, but they just didn't fit me right.
How cool your store had the new fall 2011 stuff! Thanks for the descriptions. I was curious and googled it, since you mentioned it, and found this, for anyone who hasn't seen it:

Those pictures are from this blog, which I've never read but just found while looking for pictures of the new patterns: http://www.ohmyvera.com/
Those were cosmetic bags, fronts and backs, I think. I hope it was okay to post them here. Fun new patterns, I agree!
I love the Fall colors, especially Mocha Rouge! It's a relief, though, since I HATE all of the summer colors. Looks like I'll just have to wait a little while longer to get my hands on some Mocha Rogue, though!
CampbellScot, where did you get a GCA for so cheap?? Ebay??
I'm really bad at letters standing for words...it took me about ten minutes to figure out what GCA meant!I got the Get Carried Away tote from verabradley.com actually. It was a one day sale, Java blue was a print that was on sale, and then that one day sale on top of it. I didn't quite believe the price and I had no choice! I had to buy it!! It was the same sort of deal for the small and large backpack. That particular color was 25% off on top of being on sale. So I jumped! Being on the east coast gives me a head start over the rest of the country!!!
I also got awesome deals on the Laptop backpack (totally Turq) and the Metropolitan (Blue Rhapsody). The only Vera item I think I've ever paid full price for is the most recent Mocha Rouge small make up case. I think VB bags are just a bit overpriced for cloth bags, but the sales are often really good! My husband laughs at my thinking that VB is overpriced b/c I'm also a dedicated Coach bag carrier and I don't tend to look at the price if something has grabbed my attention...which is why I get bags that aren't trendy and that I can carry for a LONG time. Makes sense right?!
it's my bag buying logic!! Plus I travel A LOT. So I need a lap top backpack...and/or a computer messenger bag...or a GCA tote...or a weekender.
right?
*ahem*
I am also not a HUGE fan of the newest Spring colors. The Boysenberry is my favorite of the four. I do LOVE the Mocha Rouge color...so I'm going to have to figure out WHY I need another weekender in THAT color. Or i'm going to have to start hiding stuff...
do what we gotta do right?!![]()
