Vent re: Dumbo and adult only riders

Have to disagree with OP as well. Just took my mom (67 years old) to Disneyland for Mothers Day and the only ride she really wanted to ride was Dumbo. I will always remember her excitement!!!

Yes. I'm really going to get blasted for this one, but I think the character meals should be reserved for the little ones as well.
I guess I only really am into Disney because of my child. Once she becomes a teen it will probably be Universal all the way.

:confused3 Why? Last year DH(64), DD(34), her DH (42) & I (54) went to CP for dinner before MNSSHP (which we dressed in costume for, by the way & collected candy and autographs). We were celebrating DD's birthday & their anniversary. The characters and staff made as much fuss over them as they did any of the kids. It was only DD's second time at WDW and her DH's 1st. We wanted them to experience all that Disney had to offer and we had a fantastic time doing it.:thumbsup2 :cool1:

My motto is the same as Peter Pan. "I'll NEVER Grow Up!!!!!".

Couldnt agree more. I dont understand why Mefordis is even on the DISboards. Its obvious she doesnt care about Disney. Disboards are for disney lovers. Not for disney haters.

Mefordis, I'm not sure if it's the stress of having the unpopular opinion, but now your replies are just pointless and hold no merit. If I had any sympathy for your suggestion before, it's gone now.

So you hate Disney, or dislike it. We all get it. If all you are going to try to do now is emphasize the silliness of DISNEY then perhaps you'd have better spent your time elsewhere?

admission is the first step.

oh, and by the way, I just reported you.

That post was just a joke because the other person said they were reporting anything rude and argumentative.

I have read all 27 (now 28) pages of posts. I've taken the time to read them all and report the ones that are rude and argumentative. I have to say, in a few years on these boards, this is the first time I ever felt moved to report posts as being rude and argumentative. It's sad.

Have a nice day, everyone.

Pray tell, I am on the list?? :lmao:

Don't be so sure my opinion doesn't count. Disney reads these boards and even though more people who disagree with me are vocal on this board, don't think I'm the only one who has this opinion.

Also, keep in mind that at Universal there is a really fun looking ride based on Jurassic Park in which you had to have one child and one adult, and they wouldn't let any adults on without children and vice versa. Anything can change. I can picture the throngs of adults waiting by asking to borrow a kid so they can ride Dumbo! LOL!

Do you know how many people go to WDW without small children? A lot, Disney does know that! :goodvibes

Perhaps you should frequent Universal based on this fact! :thumbsup2

:lmao:

For those who are asking about Aladdins Carpet Ride. Yes it is just like Dumbo. The only difference is that you get spit on by a camel and you are sitting on a carpet and not on a elephant.

Last one to Dumbo is a rotten egg. Any kids in my way, including mine, be prepared to be tripped. I get the pink one!:dumbo:

Wow - what a hot topic.

I just returned from a great vacation with my mom and sisters - 5 adults - no children. Our first ride at MK was Dumbo. We wanted to ride this for sentimental reasons. When I was 5, my mom MADE my 16 yo sister stand in that long line and take me on Dumbo. She was mad and hated every minute of it. 35 years later this is still a joke in our family and we wanted to go on Dumbo together again. I don't see anything wrong with this. We did only take up 2 Dumbo's as one sister stayed out to take pictures.

ummmm, my post was just a joke because his was just a joke.

thanks.

Thank goodness! I'm not so sure anymore what's a joke and what isn't when it comes to this thread. lol :rotfl:

Just wanna add 1 more thing to this - if this was the case. If it really is just for kids. Then why is it that my DH tells the people he works with (mind you we are talking about grown men with and without kids and wives who are in the military) that we are going in Disney in August and they flat out come out and say I love Disney! That place is awesome! Im so jealous. I wanna go to Disney now! Just a few months ago, one of the text sergents (who is in his 40's) that DH works with right before he went on a deployment, he went to Disney with his wife and kids, and it was HIS idea!

It really is first and foremost for children.
