I know that there are those who are handicapped that do not appear to be, but if you are able to purchase two 5 gallon water jugs (the kind that go into the water coolers) and a cart full of other stuff and are able to load it into your cart, push that cart and then unload them into your car, you are clearly not in need of that parking spot.
I normally don't get bothered by this stuff but there were two other people in the store who were handicapped, and for all I know that lady with the jugs took their parking spot

You are wrong.

There are many disabilities that would be served by a handicap space that would not appear to be needed by an person without a disability. Before you judge this person, walk a mile in their shoes.

You are wrong.

No, I'm not wrong. I was behind this woman at Lowes. I watched her grab those jugs out of her cart have the cashier scan them and put them back in. I left the store right after her and watched her load them into her car. There was nothing wrong with her, and even if there was she certainly didn't need to take that spot from someone else who needed it more. There was an elderly woman in a wheelchair with an oxygen tank in the store and an elderly man that had trouble walking, from what I witnessed they deserved that spot more then the jugs lady.

I am betting the OP is just trolling..

You'd be wrong.

Just a little FYI, delete your post because you'll be getting points for a personal attack when you call someone a troll. :rolleyes1

No- she's a tried and true poster. She saw something at the grocery store and it upset her- but she really has no idea what she is talking about.

Thanks, I think  But yes I do know what I'm talking about, anyone that can lift 2 5 gallon water jugs without any problem does not need to park in that handicapped spot, whether she was truly disabled or not. She clearly is capable of walking a few extra feet. Its morally wrong, and I ask you to give me one example where it wouldn't be.

You are wrong.
Yes you are.

My father uses a handicapped sticker, and needs it just as much as ANY disabled and/or handicapped person.

Does he have a disability that is visible? No.

Can he lift 5 gallon water jugs and a cart full of other stuff and are able to load it into your cart, push that cart and then unload them into your car? Yes.

In FACT, two weeks ago, he helped my DH put up 15 panels of fence, post holes and all.

Does he need his "up close" parking spot? More than you think.

Don't judge, just hope you aren't in their shoes some day.

Wow. I can name 10 disabilities off the top of my head that could get someone a parking tag and no one would be able to look at them and know why.

Do you go to Disney World and judge who needs the ECVs too?

:thumbsup2

When DH broke his foot last summer, we didn't have a sticker. However, I would drop him off at the front of the store & he would hobble in on his crutches. We went to Wal-Mart one day and a woman ran past him so that she could get the motorized cart! If you're capable of running past someone, you should be able to push a cart.

You have no idea who that lady was shopping for. Maybe her hubby is handicapped. It really not fair of you to judge this women. Since you don't know the whole story

Name them.

I had a handicapped placard until December when I had my hip replaced. I looked "normal" did all the shopping etc BUT every step was agony. Could everyone tell? Nope. Did I ask for help to carry my stuff to the car? Nope. It was important to me to keep some independence. By the time I left the grocery store (or wherever) I was in so much pain- I was really happy to have my car close. It would literally take me all afternoon to unload my groceries.

Unless your eyes are an MRI machine, you have NO IDEA what that woman's joints look like.

BTW- the surgeon wanted me to renew my placard for my post surgical recovery (for at least 6 months) and I refused. I could now walk relatively pain free and was SO HAPPY to NOT use those places anymore!

You really have no idea what you are talking about.

Well, two things.

1. People who don't need them shouldn't use handicapped stickers.

2. The OP has no idea if the person she saw actually has a handicap, but it would seem to me that if they can physically lift such heavy items, that they really don't need to be that close to the front door, unless their handicap is in their feet? It couldn't be back or upper-body or ?

What handicap WOULD this person have that would give them a sticker if they seem to have full body use? Maybe they are mentally handicapped? Maybe they have a fear of parking too far away?

So you think that if you are shopping for a handicapped person you can just use their sticker to park inthe spot? How is that even right?
She was alone, I was behind her in line and left right after my purchase. Isaw her walking to her car and load it, there was nobody with her.

If this is the case, the woman was using the placard illegally. Unless her husband was with her- she should be parking in a regular space.

Do you know why she had the handicap sticker? I'm assuming you must in order to make a statement such as "yes i do know what i'm talking about". You know what? You don't know what you are talking about. You can speculate and guess all you want, but short of knowing her medical history you can't begin to know anything about her.

Next time you see something like this, and it bothers you this much, then talk to them. Ask them why they are using a handicap parking space and sticker when they don't seem to need one. At least according to you. Maybe you can shame them into never doing it again. Coming on here and telling us not to do it is not going to teach the "offender" anything.
