VENT: Bad choices

So my well behaved child should be punished (by leaving a show) because her younger sibling is acting up? Or I should just always leave the younger one home with a babysitter 'just in case' he might act up. :confused3

Yes, that would be preferable to punishing the several dozen other well behaved children around you. Of course, yes.

My son went through a phase when he was 3 where we couldn't take him anywhere! After the third attempt we gave up eating in public or taking him shopping for about 5 months. I never really felt like I was punishing him nor myself because of it. It was just that age/time that it wasn't worth the fits and he was just a VERY active little boy.

My son was an angel at age 2 though so I would have taken to him a show like that no problem...those 5 months right after he turned 3..no way!

In this situation I would have removed the child. I dont think it's rewarding the kid at all. I think it's just appropriate for the situation. Too much stimulation/combined with not being able to run free, obviously upset this child. I'd almost guess she..the mom.. knew he wouldn't like it beforehand...but it could have just been an "off" night for the child.

Speaking of fits...my son had one, when he was 3, on the Disney bus going back to the resort. Talk about the stares! Unfortuately in that sitatution I was unable to remove him from the situation. But if looks could kill...I'd be dead!

BTW..he's almost 5 and back to being an angel. Glad those 5 months are over!
